Walter White Jr. is getting married!

RJ Mitte, the actor and producer best known as the son of Bryan Cranston's high school chemistry teacher turned drug lord on *Breaking Bad*, is engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Kennedy Suarez, per PEOPLE.

Mitte, 33, got down on one knee and popped the question during the 56th annual Dia del Sol 2025 fundraising gala to benefit United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of San Diego earlier this month. Mitte, who has cerebral palsy and is an ambassador for UCP, was a featured speaker at the event in California.

"I'm thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we're doing," Mitte told PEOPLE. "Kennedy is my everything and I can't wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next."**

The actor recently wished his fianccée a happy 30th birthday on Instagram, writing, in part, "You make me better and want to be better!"

Mitte broke out in Hollywood as Walt White Jr., also known as "Flynn," on Vince Gilligan's Emmy-winning drama series *Breaking Bad*, about a mild-mannered high school chemistry educator (Cranston) in Albuquerque, N.M. who turns to the meth-making business with a former student (Aaron Paul) upon learning that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. What begins as a desperate bid to leave money behind for his family turns into a full-fledged drug empire riddled with murder and deceit.**

"Initially, I wanted Walt Jr. to have a good death scene," Mitte told ** during a reunion retrospective with the cast in 2018. "I thought they were going to kill me off for a second. And I thought, 'Walt Jr. should be brutally murdered. Pretty much bludgeoned and beaten to death. That'd be a good scene for him.'"

Perhaps a home invasion scenario where his character was "beat to death," he offered. "I was just like, 'That's what we needed,' but I realized that's not what would have been best for the show."**

Following the show's successful five-season run, Mitte went on to appear on such shows as *Switched at Birth, Robot Chicken, The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!), *and* HCBS Final Rule: The Animated Series.* He also starred in films *Dixieland, River Runs Red, All the Little Things We Kill, Love Me Dead*, and *Westhampton.*
