Jussie Smollett is the latest celebrity to depart *Special Forces: World's Toughest Test*.

On the Oct. 9 episode, the former *Empire* actor left on the third day of competition, after he developed an intense and painful cough.

"My breathing is just like whoa," Smollett said as the recruits are riding back to the barracks after having faced another tough task. "I feel like I'm gonna vomit."

After that, Smollett was sent to Dr. Andy Brown, the show's chief medical examiner, who determined that the actor had developed an allergy to something in the dust. Smollett's armband was taken, as he was forced to medically withdraw — a disappointing ending for someone who's wanted to prove themselves after a public scandal.

Smollett cried, and instructors agreed that the competitor wasn't done.

Fourteen other celebrities remain in the competition, though.**
