In a change from discovering lethal spiders and snakes, Australians have found what might probably be the cutest bug ever.
The brown slug-like critter, which was discovered in a hedge of a lady's house, is so lovable individuals are wondering if googly eyes have been taped to it.
The large eyes are even slightly pink, prompting the home-owner to hurry to Fb to ask if anybody knows what it is.
Although many didn't know what the bug is, there was a consensus it was 'the cutest factor that they had ever seen'.
However it has been confirmed to be the larval form of the Pale Brown Hawk Moth.
Andrew Mitchell, an entomologist at the Australian Museum, advised Yahoo: 'It is most frequently discovered on vines, including grape vines, and they are fairly widespread, especially around this time of yr.
'This species has quite a wide distribution, from the Kimberley area (in Western Australia) eastwards alongside the coastal strip all the best way to Cape York (in far north Queensland) after which south to Sydney.'
They do not chew or sting but might launch a inexperienced liquid if disturbed.
The body of the bug is a definite brown color to help disguise it from predators.
And the lovable eyes are used to startle predators and help shield itseld.
Mr Mitchell stated: 'When threatened they puff up the front of their physique, increase it into the air, suck the top in a bit, and may look quite convincingly like a snake when seen entrance on.'
Others are also green, and adults can develop as much as 70mm in length.
