HUNDREDS of passengers have been left in huge queues at a Scots airport today due to a "nationwide technical outage".
Edinburgh Airport warned travellers to expect longer waiting times after the Border Force systems crashed.
The malfunction is said to affect airports across the UK.
Edinburgh Airport said on X, formerly Twitter: "Border Force is currently experiencing a nationwide technical outage affecting airports across the UK.
"This is resulting in longer wait times for arriving passengers. Our teams are in the arrivals hall providing support as partners from UKBF work to fix the issue."
Disgruntled passengers took to social media amid the chaotic scenes.
One said: "What is happening at passport control? Hundreds of people queuing outside."
Another wrote: "Shambles at arrivals. Endless queues."
A third said: "Once again, your international arrivals is a total shambles.
"Travelled all over Europe and the USA. Never have I experienced such a poor international arrivals."
A fourth fumed: "I was waiting for 70 minutes and there were no announcements over the PA system or apologies."
