Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov praised Spurs' team effort for their second goal against Brighton, before their dramatic second-half collapse to lose 3-2. Spurs had gone 1-0 up via Brennan Johnson's sixth goal in as many games before James Maddison doubled their advantage. After good build-up from Dominic Solanke, a Timo Werner cutback the area teed up Maddison, who coolly slotted past goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen to make it 2-0.
