AFL great Mick McGuane caught up in salary cap scandal that saw his club STRIPPED of its 2023 premiership

AFL great Mick McGuane has been caught up in a salary cap breach that led to his local club, Keilor, being stripped of its 2023 Essendon District Football League [EDFL] premiership. The league found Keilor guilty of exceeding the salary cap by $45,100 in 2023 and by $605 in 2022. As a result, the club was penalised with a $50,000 fine, with $20,000 suspended, and a 15 per cent reduction in player payments over the next three seasons.

Ruben Amorim says his opinion of Bruno Fernandes is more important than Roy Keane's as he defended his Manchester United captain in the face of another attack by the Irishman. Former United skipper Keane took aim at Fernandes again in a podcast on Thursday, accusing the Portuguese of not being 'a fighter' and claiming that 'talent is not enough' to captain the club. But Amorim leapt to Fernandes' defence on Friday even though he acknowledged that the player can sometimes get under people's skin.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has gone viral for revealing what sandwich he would choose when buying a supermarket meal deal. The midfielder posted a video with crisp brand Pringles called 'Hot vs Cole' to his 6.3million Instagram followers on Thursday. Palmer has not been so hot on the pitch of late, failing to score in his last six Premier League matches for Chelsea. Nevertheless, he seemed in high spirits as he was asked a series of food-related questions in the video in question.
