"That was just embarrassing how we lost the game," Gottlieb told reporters, according toESPN.
"We didn't defend the 3-point line," Gottlieb added after the team's 80-78 loss to Robert Morris at home. "And we have guys that are not listening. So it happens. We lost the game."
Gottlieb continued: "Yeah, we're actually a good basketball team. I know it's surprising to people. We're actually pretty good, but we played like idiots at the end of the game."

According toUSA Today, Green Bay was up by 11 points with less than four minutes remaining in the game. But Robert Morris cut the lead down to two points with about 30 seconds to go, and Green Bay then turned the ball over on the next possession allowing Robert Morris hit a go-ahead three-pointer moments later to seal the victory.
Gottlieb, who also hosts a nationally syndicated sports radio show, was hired by Green Bay in 2024 in an attempt to turn the school's basketball program around, according to ESPN. The team finished last season with a 4-28 record and has already matched that win total this season with its current 4-6 record.
Despite bashing his team – and the gymnasium furniture – Gottlieb pointed out bright spots he sees from this year's Green Bay squad.
"I'm encouraged by our effort and our defense and how we executed," the coach admitted, before acknowledging he believes his team was responsible for its loss Thursday night.
