How 'The Last of Us' Season 2 Is a Full-Circle Moment For Canceled Movie
Before The Last of Us became a hit HBO series, the video game was nearly adapted for the big screen. In 2014, it was announced that a film, based on the video game of the same name, was in the works with Sam Raimi set to direct. Two years later, there was no movement on the project. The Last of Us creator and Neil Druckman explained that it was an impossible task to make the movie, while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in January 2023.
