Vanessa Kirby is joining Sue Storm in motherhood.

The *Fantastic Four: First Steps* actress has welcomed her first child with her longtime partner, Paul Rabil. The retired lacrosse player announced the news in a Sunday social media post, sharing photos of the couple alongside the newest addition to their family.

"I'm learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time," Rabil wrote on Instagram. "That I'm really grateful for everyone's health, that I get to wake up everyday to mum's enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now."

The carousel included several photos: one shows the newborn lying on Rabil's chest, wrapped in blankets, while another shows Kirby and their little one lying in bed together. The roundup ended with a snap of two miniature lacrosse sticks.

Rabil continued, "For your first cradle stick. It'll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house."

The athlete offered no further details about the baby's name, gender or birthdate and Kirby has yet to publicly address the birth of her first child.

After sparking romance rumors in 2022, Kirby and Rabil went public with their relationship the following year. They have largely kept their romance private, only occasionally sharing snaps of their love story on social media. In November 2023, Rabil celebrated their relationship on Instagram, sharing a series of photos from throughout their relationship.

"From the very minute we first met in des moines, around the world and back," he wrote. "Life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you."

Two years later, Kirby posted about their romantic getaway to the West Indies, sharing several photos of the couple soaking up the sun and enjoying each other's company. "What a beautiful time away to stop for a second to appreciate the people you most love," she captioned the photos on Instagram.

As *Fantastic Four: First Steps* approached its release date earlier this year, Kirby stepped out and revealed her own pregnancy at the CCXPMX Film Festival in Mexico City on May 31. She posed for photos in a shimmering Schiaparelli dress while cradling her baby bump. Fans were quick to point out the fun coincidence that her own pregnancy comes months after filming a movie in which her superhero character, Sue, is welcoming her first child with Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal).

While doing the rounds for the latest Marvel entry, Kirby joked that her actual pregnancy was nothing compared to the discomfort she felt during her onscreen pregnancy. During a July visit to *Late Night With Seth Meyers*, she explained that the initial fake foam belly was too airy — so she convinced her costume handler to make it heavier

"She kind of put heavy rice packets in the belly, and it got so heavy I got really bad backache. And actually, it's nothing like this," Kirby said, gesturing to her own baby bump. "This is way lighter. I gave myself a backache for no reason."

Meyers was quick to jump in with a silver lining, joking, "You may be on to something — that before you get pregnant, do something worse."**
