Crystal Palace will begin the post-Marc Guéhi era on Saturday, Jan. 17, when it travels to Sunderland.
The team's captain and stalwart defender was left off the squad for the match at Stadium of Light, as he reportedly closes in on a move to Manchester City.
In his pregame news conference on Friday, Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner admitted the 25-year-old wouldn't play due to his pending transfer.
"I can't confirm the club because it is not done but is in the final stages, and the result is Marc doesn't play tomorrow for us," Glasner said.
"Everybody wanted Marc to stay forever as Crystal Palace captain and staying here, but reality is different."
In the same news conference, Glasner revealed he would also be leaving Palace — though not until the end of the season.

Guéhi has been subject to interest from several of the Premier League's biggest sides. The England international's contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, leading to speculation he would leave on a free transfer in the summer.
But with a number of defenders currently injured, Man City will pay a reported £20 million to land Guéhi this month.
Guéhi joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021. He also has made 26 appearances for England.
