MADISON – Sunday night college football is coming to Lambeau Field andWisconsinhas a starring role.
TheBadgers’ 2026 season opener against Notre Dame will be played at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
The contest will be broadcast on NBC and streamed on the Peacock app.

The matchup will be the first between the programs since 2021, whenthe Badgerslost toFighting Irish, 41-13, at Soldier Field in Chicago. Before that the teams had not met since 1964. UW is 6-9-2 all-time against Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish will come into the game highly regarded. Sports Illustrated ranked the Fighting Irish No. 1 in its “Way-Too-Early” Top 25 on May 6.USA Todayand Fox Sports had Notre Dame at No. 2 in spring rankings published April 29 and May 4, respectively. ESPN put the team fourth in its April 14 ranking.
