A chance meeting between Oasis front man Liam Gallagher and AFL legend Kevin Sheedy may have set the wheels in motion for the band's incredible comeback tour. The worlds of rock and roll and Aussie rules footy collided roughly 10 years ago when Sheedy, during his time with the Greater Western Sydney Giants, was invited to a Nike suite to watch the Manchester derby between United and City. City tragic Gallagher, in the midst of his bitter dispute with older brother and bandmate Noel, was in attendance, and Giants CEO Dave Matthews revealed that Sheedy left Gallagher walking away from their interaction with plenty to ponder.

England interim Lee Carsley wants to carry on his 'other' job coaching students at a local academy in the Midlands to help him try out new tactics for Harry Kane and Cole Palmer. Carsley is in temporary charge of The Three Lions for the first time against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, having led the under-21s to Euro glory last year. Despite the added responsibilities, Carsley doesn't want to give up on the once-a-week sessions he delivers every Friday morning to aspiring players aged between 16 and 21 at the Strachan academy in Warwick.
