Note: this story contains spoilers from The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 2 finale, featuring the wedding of Jesse and Alli McBee.

For Jesse and Alli (Ventresca) McBee, Season 2 of their family reality show, The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, was an emotional roller coaster filled with dramatic moments and major milestones. One of the season's main storylines was the pair's wedding, which is shown in the season finale.

Before the happy couple gets to walk down the aisle, though, they must first navigate some drama – including Jesse getting pressure from brother Steven McBee, Jr. to have Alli sign a prenup, and escalating tension and unpredictability involving Galyna Saltkovska, the CFO of McBee Farm & Cattle Co. and former girlfriend of family patriarch Steve McBee. Throughout all of that, they also managed to keep a wonderful secret.

Parade caught up with the happy couple – now looking forward to celebrating their first anniversary in a few weeks – to find out what was happening behind the scenes during the filming of the show's second season.

A Bundle of Joy Kept Under Wraps

The biggest event happening in the couple's lives during Season 2 is one that viewers knew nothing about. Their daughter, Summer, was born in April 2025 – meaning the pair knew Alli was pregnant during most of the season's filming. But they kept it a secret, even from most of the crew and others involved with the show. That was partly due to their desire to keep this part of their lives private, but also because they didn't want to take away from another couple in the family whose pregnancy was already a major storyline. Jesse's brother Cole and his girlfriend Kacie Adkison were expecting a baby (their daughter Blair would arrive in December 2024).

Viewers won't get to see Alli's pregnancy play out on screen, but little Summer is a happy and healthy baby, her proud parents report.

"She's great," says Alli. "She's just growing like a weed. It's kind of crazy – you blink, and they're already four months old. And it's pretty crazy how much they change and grow in the first few months of life."

Pushing for a Prenup

Jesse and Ali may have kept the pregnancy under wraps, but their wedding was a major part of the season's focus. As their big day approached, Jesse faced increasing pressure from Steven to have Alli sign a prenup to address any potential future claims on the business and other family assets. In the end, Jesse refuses.

Although Alli was unaware of these conversations at the time, she says she isn't upset about it, now that she has watched it on screen. "I wouldn't get mad about that kind of thing, because I know where they're coming from. I'm not offended about the prenup stuff, but it is just a little bit weird to be watching it now."

Jesse says he wanted to make sure everyone involved felt like their concerns were heard. "It was just one of those things where I had to look at it from two different perspectives, as a partner [to Alli], and then also as a brother who is involved in business that involves all my other brothers, and something that my dad has been working on for the past 30 years of his life. So there's a lot of things I had to take into account. I gave it my full thought and gave everybody a chance to kind of speak and discuss how they felt about it."

Panic on the Combine

As the pressure of wedding planning, prenup discussions, and farm finances rapidly escalated, we saw Jesse reach a breaking point when he experienced a panic attack while operating a harvesting machine. While Jesse admits it was a bit uncomfortable putting that experience out there in public, he has gotten a lot of good feedback from viewers.

"It's been pretty much all positive, just thanking me for opening up like that," Jesse says. "I'm not a very open person in general. I'm sure the viewers have seen that I don't open up about my feelings a whole lot. It's probably something I need to work on. And I think that was just a lot of pent-up anxiety that I got to a point where I just couldn't handle it anymore, and I needed an outlet."

Galyna Misses the Wedding

Reeling from her breakup with Steve McBee and her feelings of betrayal because her former friend, Masha, is now Steve's girlfriend, Galyna seems to be caught in a downward spiral this season. Steven McBee Jr. confronts Galyna about allegedly drinking at work – an accusation she denies – and we see her get into several heated encounters with Masha. On a happier note, Galyna is delighted when Jesse gives her an invitation to his wedding, which makes it surprising that she doesn't show up at the event.

Viewers find out the reason: Footage shows Galyna being taken away in a police car after crashing her car. She was reportedly cited with a minor traffic charge and released. This all unfolded on Jesse and Alli's wedding day, but the happy couple say they were blissfully unaware of the situation. "We had heard sirens when we were standing outside, but didn't think anything of it," says Jesse.

"My wedding planner kind of made it her mission: no drama," says Alli. "She did a good job, so I didn't really have a clue what was going on [outside of the wedding]."

A Gift That Got Their Motor Running

Jesse and Alli both immediately respond in unison when asked what their favorite wedding gift was: "The truck!"

Jesse's father, Steve McBee, got them a 1979 GMC truck that a group of family friends and employees had spent weeks restoring. "We were both pretty excited about that," Alli says.

Steve's Legal Troubles Loom in the Background

Steve McBeewas a prominent figure in the series' first season, but is noticeably absent from the second season until making a few brief appearances in a few later episodes. That's because he was likely busy focusing on his legal issues. He was being investigated by the FBI for crop insurance fraud (which Jesse and Cole were unaware of until Steve broke the news to them shortly before Jesse's wedding).

Steve McBee eventually pled guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud, a charge that carries potential penalties of up to 30 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for next week.

"It's still ongoing, so we can't say much about it," says Jesse. "I would just say to stick with us. We're sticking together as a family. If anything, this has brought us closer as a family and made us realize what's important. And don't believe everything that you read on the internet, as always. We appreciate the support in any capacity. Things happen, and we're going to stick together as a family at the end of the day, no matter what."

GENEVA (AP) — European soccer now focuses on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with recent champions France, Germany and Spain among the nations starting a six-game, 11-week sprint to advance to the tournament being played across North America.

The European qualifying program returns Thursday with six days of games involving 54 teams — 24 of them kicking a first ball on their intended road to play on soccer's biggest stage in the United States, Canada and Mexico starting June 11.

Italy began its campaign — shakily — in June and resumes its quest to avoid a third straight failure to qualify already trailing nine points behind group leader Norway.

England opened in March and looks to add to three straight wins with no goals conceded for coach Thomas Tuchel.

Among those starting their qualifying program are top-tier teams who played a thrilling set of Nations League games in March and June.

Spain, the 2010 World Cup winner, begins at Bulgaria on Thursday when 2014 champion Germany starts at Slovakia.

France, the 2018 title winner, starts Friday away against Ukraine in Les Bleus' first game in the competition since losing an epic final against Argentina in December 2022.

Ukraine will host that game in Wroclaw in neutral Poland because of security concerns at home during the Russian military invasion. Russia's teams were banned by UEFA and FIFA from all international competitions in February 2022 when the war began.

How to qualify

Europe has 16 entries in the first 48-team men's World Cup, three more than in the 32-team format played in 2022.

The 12 first-place teams when qualifying groups end in November advance direct to the tournament.

The 12 runners-up go to the playoffs scheduled in March, joined by four winners of Nations League groups played last year. Those extra teams could include, remarkably, San Marino, 210th and last of the men's national teams ranked by FIFA.

The 16 European playoffs teams will be seeded into four knockout brackets of four teams each. They play single-game semifinals and finals on March 26 and 31, to decide the four remaining World Cup slots.

Smallest groups since 1989

The extra World Cup entries given by FIFA, and Nations League knockout stage expanded by UEFA, have changed the qualifying formula.

Europe now has its first World Cup qualifying groups of just four teams since those that finished in November 1989, just days after the Berlin Wall fell and reshaped the continent.

High-ranking nations that once had to play in groups of five or six teams across 15 months now have a condensed program playing two games in each of three straight months. An injury could remove a key player for the entire qualifying program. Germany will not have Jamal Musiala, who sustained a serious leg injury playing for Bayern Munich at the Club World Cup in July.

The format changes again next year. After the 2026 World Cup, the FIFA schedule for men's national-team games will combine the separate September and October breaks into a four-game block over back-to-back weekends.

Toughest groups

European champion Spain's reward for beating the Netherlands in a Nations League quarterfinal in March was to land in a four-team group with Turkey and Georgia, two breakout successes at Euro 2024.

Georgia, with star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, was the most dangerous team among third-seeded options in the draw last December. Georgia hosts Turkey on Thursday and plays at Spain on Oct. 11.

Maybe the hardest to predict is the four-team group of Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia and Kosovo.

Switzerland was an impressive quarterfinalist at Euro 2024 yet must face some of Europe's most expensive forwards — Slovenia's Benjamin Šeško, now at Arsenal, and a Sweden attacking line of Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyökeres and Anthony Elanga who were collectively signed for more than $300 million this season by, respectively, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle.

A talented Kosovo squad that actively recruits from its migrant population in Switzerland comes to Basel on Friday with the Swiss team captained by its all-time great Granit Xhaka, who has family ties to Kosovo.

Norway leads Italy and Israel

One group sure to make news is currently led by Norway ahead of Israel and Italy.

Norway has not qualified for a men's World Cup since before 25-year-old Erling Haaland was born. The team is on track after the star forward scored in each of four straight wins since starting in March.

Norway has no fixture Friday in the five-team group and hosts last-place Moldova next Tuesday.

Italy, infamously, has not played a World Cup tournament game since June 2014. Then, Giorgio Chiellini was bitten by Uruguay's Luis Suárez in a 1-0 loss that sent the four-time champion home from the group stage in Brazil.

Italy hosts Estonia on Friday, three days before going to face Israel in neutral Hungary, at Debrecen.

Israeli teams have not been allowed to host home games in international competitions for security reasons since the October 2023 attack by Hamas.

Norway hosts Israel on Oct. 11 in Oslo and pledged last month to donate its profits from ticket sales at that game to humanitarian aid work in Gaza.

The Grammy-winning artist, who has been married to Morgane since 2007, was looking spiffy for the special occasion, swapping out his usual cowboy hat and casual country style for a sharp blue button-down shirt and a pair of sleek black pants.

Key Points -

Burry bet against the U.S. housing market back in 2007 and predicted the subprime market crash.

The investor is known for his contrarian bets.

10 stocks we like better than UnitedHealth Group ›

Hedge fund manager Michael Burry shot to stardom after predicting the collapse of the U.S. housing market back in 2007 -- and raking in $100 million for himself and more than $700 million for his investors thanks to his bet. And that's exactly why it's a great idea to take notice when Burry makes investing moves, especially ones that go against the crowd.

Burry, whose story was documented in the movie The Big Short, manages more than $578 million at Scion Asset Management, and recently revealed his latest moves as part of his 13F filing. These documents, submitted quarterly to the Securities and Exchange Commission, offer a glimpse into the strategies of managers of more than $100 million in securities.

Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Continue »

In the second quarter, Burry made a striking move: He bought shares of a struggling healthcare giant -- ones that have plummeted nearly 50% over the past year. And Burry didn't only buy a few shares of this company. He's actually made it his biggest position through purchases of both the shares and call options -- the call option position holds an 18% weight in his portfolio. Does this daring investor know something that Wall Street doesn't?

An investor studies something on a tablet in a darkened office.

Burry's purchase of stock and call options

So, first, let's find out which stock Burry is most bullish on, according to his latest moves: UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). Burry bought 20,000 shares and call options on 350,000 more -- a call option is a contract allowing you to buy an asset in the future at a preset price. It's a bet on the asset's price rising -- the idea is the preset price will be lower than the stock's actual price, allowing you to buy at a level that's below market value.

Both the shares and call options are new positions in Burry's portfolio, which also has shown a shift to general bullishness: The investor, who had bearish options betting on declines in tech stocks such as Nvidia and Alibaba Group in the first quarter, no longer held those positions in the second quarter.

Now, let's consider the UnitedHealth bet. This company is the biggest U.S. health insurer, operating both UnitedHealthcare -- its insurance unit -- and Optum -- a unit that offers health services such as patient care, pharmacy benefits management, and more. This player clearly has a strong market position, and it's grown earnings over the years.

UNH Net Income (Annual) Chart

UNH Net Income (Annual) data by YCharts

But this year, UnitedHealth has faced serious challenges that have weighed on earnings and stock performance, from a U.S. Department of Justice probe into the company's Medicare business, to rising healthcare costs and greater-then-expected patient use of medical services. In the second quarter, UnitedHealth reported adjusted earnings per share of $4.08, missing analysts' estimates of $4.48, and the company expects pressure on earnings to continue through this year.

Why is Burry buying?

Considering all this, you may be wondering why Burry has been piling into shares of this struggling healthcare giant. Though this top investor hasn't revealed the reasons behind his moves, a look at UnitedHealth's market position and current situation offer us some clues -- and a reason why we, too, might offer this stock a second look.

As mentioned, the company is the leading U.S. health insurer, and on top of that, it also generates revenue through its Optum services business. UnitedHealth isn't likely to lose this position overnight, and it's important to note that rivals also face the reality of increasing healthcare costs and greater use of services -- so this isn't a UnitedHealth-specific problem.

At the same time, UnitedHealth is making moves to address current challenges. For example, the company is exiting plans where costs have become too difficult to manage, it's raising premiums on certain plans, and it's using artificial intelligence (AI) to drive efficiency -- in fact, AI is expected to help lower costs by $1 billion for Optum next year. In a filing this summer, UnitedHealth also said it is complying with all Justice Department requests concerning the probe.

A cheap stock

Finally, today, UnitedHealth, trading at 13x trailing-12-month earnings, is near its cheapest level in about a decade.

UNH PE Ratio Chart

UNH PE Ratio data by YCharts

UnitedHealth's latest earnings reports may not look fantastic, but the company's leaders have identified the problems, set out concrete plans to address them, and even predict a return to earnings growth next year.

So, UnitedHealth might not have been a Wall Street favorite earlier this year, but Michael Burry is right to forget about that and focus on the future. From that perspective, UnitedHealth looks like a smart healthcare stock to buy now for a dirt cheap price and hold through the company's recovery and beyond.

Should you invest $1,000 in UnitedHealth Group right now?

Before you buy stock in UnitedHealth Group, consider this:

Dominic Basulto, The Motley FoolSeptember 2, 2025 at 5:15 AM

Key Points -

XRP was within striking distance of its all-time high of $3.84.

XRP has a number of catalysts that could push it higher.

For XRP to move significantly higher, Bitcoin will likely need to go on a year-end rally as well.

10 stocks we like better than XRP ›

It's been an up-and-down summer for XRP (CRYPTO: XRP). The world's third-largest cryptocurrency exploded in value during July, eventually hitting a 52-week high of $3.65. But since then, XRP has fallen 25%, and currently trades for just $2.72.

So is a rebound on the horizon for XRP? Or are crypto investors better off looking elsewhere?

Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More »

Plenty of new catalysts for XRP

The good news, if you're thinking about investing in XRP, is that there are plenty of new catalysts for the final months of 2025. The one that everyone is talking about, of course, is the imminent launch of new spot XRP ETFs. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) decided to push off a decision on them until mid-October, but just about everyone expects them to start trading by the end of 2025.

The spot ETFs are important because they could result in a big wave of new money flowing into XRP from both retail and institutional investors. Earlier in the year, JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) projected that as much as $8 billion might flow into XRP after the spot ETFs launch.

Person with chart on computer screen reflected in their glasses.

Moreover, Ripple, the company behind the XRP token, has been rolling out a number of new exciting products that could help to boost adoption of the XRP blockchain ledger by major financial institutions.

For example, at the end of last year, Ripple announced the launch of a new stablecoin called Ripple USD (CRYPTO: RLUSD). In less than 12 months, Ripple USD has already grown to a market cap of $688 million, ranking it among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies in the world.

Admittedly, some of these new product launches are more about generating buzz and hype than anything really substantial. Case in point: Ripple announced a new partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Gemini on the launch of an XRP credit card that pays back users 4% in XRP on purchases. That might generate media headlines, but it's unlikely to move the needle on XRP's price.

What do the prediction markets think?

When it comes to XRP, it's safe to ignore the pie-in-the-sky price forecasts of many crypto traders and investors. Sure, XRP might hit a price of $100 one day, but just how likely is that?

To get a better sense of where XRP might be headed, I've been looking at online prediction markets, where real-world traders are putting real dollars behind their predictions. Right now, things look very bullish indeed. Traders think there's a 52% chance of XRP hitting $3.75 by the end of the year, and a 36% chance of XRP hitting $4.

XRP made a run at its record high price of $3.84 in January, then fell. It made another run at this price in July, and again fell. So the third time could be the charm, if XRP goes on a run in the fall or winter.

As Bitcoin goes, so goes XRP?

At the end of the day, any real rebound in XRP's price depends on Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC). Currently, Bitcoin accounts for a whopping 58% of the entire market cap of the crypto market. So, as Bitcoin goes, so goes the crypto market.

If you look at the correlation between Bitcoin and XRP, this makes immediate sense. XRP has a 0.87 correlation with Bitcoin over the past 12 months. That's just about as high as you're going to get with a pair of cryptocurrencies. Put another way, if Bitcoin zigs, then so will XRP. And if Bitcoin zags, so will XRP.

That's why it's so important for Bitcoin to move higher in the coming months. If Bitcoin continues to trade for less than $120,000, then it's unlikely XRP will go on a major run. Doing so would require XRP to decouple from Bitcoin, and that's not likely to happen.

The one factor to watch for XRP

The one factor that I'm watching right now is the flow of new institutional investor money into XRP. Until the new spot XRP ETFs arrive, this might be the single-best indicator of just how much institutional demand there is for XRP.

According to the latest data from CoinShares, $1.2 billion has flowed into XRP since the start of the year. That's not a lot, compared to how much has flowed into Bitcoin and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), but it still ranks third among all major cryptocurrencies.

That said, XRP is not the type of cryptocurrency that only goes up. As we've seen this year, sharp declines are common. So make sure you do your due diligence before allocating too much of your capital to XRP.

Should you invest $1,000 in XRP right now?

Officials in Chicago are bracing for a major federal immigration enforcement operation that could begin as soon as this week, with the city's mayor signing an order over the weekend aimed at resisting the Trump administration's planned crackdown.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said Sunday such a move would be an "invasion" and that he has had no communication with the Trump administration about reported plans to send National Guard troops to Chicago.

"No one in the administration – the president or anybody under him – has called anyone in my administration, or me. So, it's clear that in secret they're planning this – well, it's an invasion with US troops, if they in fact do that," Pritzker said Sunday.

The operation is expected to kick off in Chicago by this Friday and could involve agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and potentially be backed by guard forces in a peacekeeping role, according to multiple sources familiar with the planning.

"We've already had ongoing operations with ICE in Chicago and throughout Illinois and other states, making sure that we're upholding our laws, but we do intend to add more resources to those operations," Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

An immigration operation in the city would further escalate a clash between the White House and Democratic-led cities and comes as President Donald Trump and his aides have repeatedly slammed Chicago over policies that limit cooperation between local authorities and federal immigration enforcement.

Asked about expanding these operations beyond Chicago, Noem said that the Trump administration has "not taken anything off the table," and specifically named San Francisco and Boston in addition to Chicago. She suggested that Republican-led cities with crime problems were "absolutely" also being evaluated.

Chicago has been preparing to try to resist Trump's planned immigration crackdown with Mayor Brandon Johnson signing an executive order Saturday providing guidance and directives to the city's agencies and law enforcement "in the midst of escalating threats from the federal government."

The mayor's order "affirms" that Chicago police will not "collaborate with federal agents on joint law enforcement patrols, arrest operations, or other law enforcement duties including civil immigration enforcement." It also "urges" federal law enforcement officers to use body cameras and refrain from wearing masks.

"We may see militarized immigration enforcement. We may also see National Guard troops. We may even see active duty military and armed vehicles in our streets. We have not called for this. Our people have not asked for this, but nevertheless, we find ourselves having to respond to this," Johnson said before signing the executive order on Saturday.

White House officials have made clear that these immigration enforcement plans are distinct from the idea the president has floated over the past week to use federal law enforcement and National Guard troops to carry out a broader crime crackdown in Chicago, similar to the current surge in Washington, DC.

Trump took to social media Monday morning with a post celebrating what he called a massive victory over crime in the nation's capital and taking sharp aim at Democratic leaders across the country for refusing his floated plans for an aggressive federal anti-crime strategy in their states as well.

He contrasted politicians who are resisting his plans with what he sees as a more welcoming stance from Washington DC's leadership. In the Truth Social post, Trump said DC Mayor Muriel Bowser's "statements and actions were positive, instead of others like Pritzker, Wes Moore, Newscum, and the 5% approval rated Mayor of Chicago, who spend all of their time trying to justify violent Crime, instead of working with us to completely ELIMINATE it."

Trump officials have been quick to criticize the Illinois governor and defend potential federal policing in the state by pointing to crime statistics.

Noem pointed to homicide statistics in Chicago on Sunday in a dig to the governor, saying Pritzker "can talk about what a great job he's doing as governor, but he's failing these families. … This seems like it's more about Gov. Pritzker's ego now rather than actually protecting his people."

In a warning to Pritzker on Saturday, Trump told the governor to quickly "straighten" out crime in Chicago or the federal government will intervene.

"Six people were killed, and 24 people were shot, in Chicago last weekend, and JB Pritzker, the weak and pathetic Governor of Illinois, just said that he doesn't need help in preventing CRIME. He is CRAZY!!! He better straighten it out, FAST, or we're coming!" Trump posted on Truth Social.

At least 56 people were shot – seven of them fatally – in Chicago over the holiday weekend. Roughly 34 shootings have been reported since Friday at 10:32 p.m., with victims ranging in age from 14 to 48, according to incident notifications published by the Chicago Police Department.

Meanwhile, the Chicago mayor's office last week touted a 21.6% decrease in overall violent crime and a 32.3% decrease in homicides so far this year.

CNN's Angélica Franganillo Díaz, Betsy Klein, Priscilla Alvarez, Alayna Treene, Hannah Rabinowitz, Haley Britzky, Alejandra Jaramillo and Dakin Andone contributed to this report.
