San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings did not get long-term job security with a new tweak to his current contract, but he did get his bag.

On Sept. 3, Jennings and the 49ers agreed to terms on a deal that could pay the wideout up to $3 million in play-time incentives, per multiple reports. Last year's leading wide receiver in San Francisco is still set to become a free agent after this season, but he's in line to make $3 million more in 2025 than he was previously due.

Jennings, 28, had a massive breakout last year, five years after beginning his career on the 49ers' practice squad in 2020. A season-ending injury to 49ers' lead wideout Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel's battle with pneumonia gave Jennings a chance to shine in the passing offense.

He took full advantage of the opportunity, finishing the 2024 season leading all 49ers wide receivers with his 77 catches, 975 yards and six touchdowns. All of those marks also set new career highs for the former Tennessee Volunteer and opened up the door to receiving a pay bump ahead of 2025.

Jauan Jennings contract details -

Length: Two years (2025 is final year)

Value: $15.4 million + $3 million in play-time incentives

AAV: $7.7 million

Entering this season, Jennings is set to make up to $10.5 million if he remains healthy throughout the year. It's a significant raise from the $7.5 million he was originally due.

Jennings will still hit free agency after the 2025 season, as his new agreement with the 49ers did not include any extension of his current contract.

Hurricane Lorena threatens heavy rain, possible flooding to the US Southwest

Hurricane Lorena was undergoing weakening in the Pacific Ocean as a Category 1 storm the morning of Sept. 4 but is still poised to bring heavy rainfall and the chance of flash flooding to parts of the Southwestern United States, forecasters said.

Lorena, which formed into a hurricane on Sept. 3, is expected to have the greatest impact to land in the Baja California Sur and Sonora, Mexico, regions through Sept. 5. Bands of heavy rainfall from Lorena could bring 4 to 8 inches of rainfall Sept. 4 and 5, with totals topping out at about 15 inches from the storm. Flash flooding and mudslides are a risk, the National Hurricane Center said.

In the U.S., 1 to 3 inches of rain are expected across portions of Arizona and New Mexico, with some isolated totals of 5 inches, bringing a chance of isolated to scattered flash flooding, forecasters said.

Hurricane Lorena was located 105 miles west-southwest of Cabo San Lazaro, Mexico, and just over 500 miles from the Mexico-Arizona border. It was moving northwest with winds of 80 mph and is expected to make a north to northeastward turn later Sept. 4. It will move parallel to the west coast of the Baja California peninsula and approach the coast of Baja California Sur the night of Sept. 4 through the night of Sept. 5, forecasters predict.

"Although Lorena is forecast to rapidly weaken, abundant moisture will continue to stream northeastward away from the cyclone," the National Hurricane Center said on Sept. 4.

Firefighters are battling a fast-moving wildfire in Central California that's already burned through thousands of acres and damaged and destroyed multiple buildings in a historic Gold Rush town after igniting in a lightning storm Tuesday.

The blaze, known as the 6-5 Fire, forced the evacuation of more than 300 people in and near the small town of Chinese Camp in Tuolumne County as it continued to burn out of control Wednesday, officials said.

Nearly 350 additional people were told to be ready to evacuate at a moment's notice, a spokesperson for the Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services told CNN Wednesday.

The fire tore through the equivalent of eight football fields every minute on average in its first 10 hours Tuesday. It had scorched nearly 7,000 acres as of Wednesday evening with 0% containment, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

There were no reports of injuries or deaths from the fire as of Wednesday evening, and multiple structures have been damaged or destroyed, a Cal Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit spokesperson told CNN.

At least five homes burned Tuesday in the rural town about 57 miles east of Stockton, which has a mix of freestanding and mobile homes, the reported.

Outside one house on Tuesday evening, seven people quickly moved large tree branches away from the structure and shoveled sand onto the fire in a desperate attempt to keep the blaze from spreading from the house next door, according to the AP. They worked for about 30 minutes until firefighters arrived. An RV on the property was damaged by the fire.

Parts of nearby highways 120 and 49 were closed Wednesday due to the blaze, according to the California Department of Transportation.

The area the 6-5 Fire is burning through has an important place in US history.

The California Gold Rush brought thousands of Chinese miners to the United States, where they faced anti-immigrant sentiments and persecution that included an exorbitant Foreign Miners Tax designed to drive them away from mining. Chinese miners settled in the town in 1849, after being driven out of another nearby mining camp, according to Visit Tuolumne County. Originally called Camp Washington, it was soon renamed as Chinese Camp.

The fire destroyed the town's historic post office building, CNN affiliate KCRA reported Wednesday. Originally built in 1854, the post office – which was made of stone and brick – had been operating up until it was burned, according to California State Parks.

Chinese Camp also has a number of abandoned buildings in various states of disrepair, many of which have been "reclaimed by nature with overgrown greenery," according to Visit Tuolumne County. That greenery is bad news when it comes to the destructive fire.

The town, which also served as a backdrop for multiple films, was added to California's Historical Landmarks list in 1949.

Lightning sparked the fire now tearing through the historic town, according to Cal Fire. The 6-5 blaze is one of more than a dozen wildfires that erupted Tuesday across California after thunderstorms set off thousands of lightning strikes in the state.

Many of these storms were dry thunderstorms — storms in which much of the rain evaporates before it reaches the ground. Since these produce minimal rain, lightning strikes dry ground with little to prevent a spark from turning into an all-out blaze. These storms also produce gusty winds that drive erratic fire behavior.

Lightning sparked so many wildfires on Tuesday that Cal Fire has grouped 22 individual fires – including the 6-5 Fire – into the Cal Fire TCU September Lightning Complex. More than 600 fire personnel are assigned to the complex, according to Cal Fire's Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit.

Challenging weather conditions will persist for fire crews through at least Thursday with dry conditions and high temperatures in the 90s expected in the area of the fire complex.

SAN FRANCISCO −A mishap between two United Airlines planes at San Francisco International Airport forced passengers to deplane and fly in a different aircraft to their destinations, the airline confirmed on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The incident took place on the evening of Monday, Sept. 1, when two United Airlines planes touched tails at the airport, the airline confirmed to USA TODAY.

According to the United, the collision − involving Flight 1871 traveling to Denver and Flight 796 bound for Boston − took place as one of the aircraft pushing back from the gate "made contact with the tail of a parked United aircraft."

The incident took place around 9:10 p.m. local time, Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Steve Kulm told USA TODAY.

"This occurred in an area where air traffic controllers do not communicate with flights," Kulm said in an email.

According to Kulm, United Airlines Flight 1871 was towed back to the gate where passengers "deplaned normally."

No passengers or crew members were, United said, noting the airline "arranged for different aircraft to take our customers to their destinations."

TV station ABC-7 in San Francisco reported the collision caused damage to at least one aircraft's wing.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, and neither the airline nor the FAA responded when questioned about the reported wing damage.

The FAA said the agency continues to investigate the crash.

Influencer Kelley Lorraine announced in July that she and her husband Luis Joel were splitting after eight years of marriage

In a candid interview with PEOPLE, the 30-year-old content creator says she's adjusting to her normal "day-by-day"

"I think that the next few months is going to be a lot of me figuring out who I am on my own," says Lorraine

When influencer Kelley Lorraine started dating the man she'd later marry, she took a leap of faith.

It was 2017, and Luis Joel, 39 at the time, had three kids from a previous marriage living in Puerto Rico — on the direct path of Hurricane Maria, which would soon bring destruction and devastation to the territory. Lorraine, then 22, suggested to Joel that he attempt to bring them to the continental United States, even using her own money to buy their plane tickets.

Their blended family was unconventional: the pair had only been dating for a few months, but now Lorraine was helping raise Joel's 17-, 14- and 12-year-old teenagers. They tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed two new kids of their own, sharing their journey as parents and newlyweds to their social media platforms for the next eight years.

But in July, Lorraine revealed the heartbreaking news to her 3 million TikTok followers that she and Joel were going their separate ways.

"This isn't an easy post to write, but after a lot of reflection and many difficult conversations, my husband and I have separated and are getting divorced," she captioned a tearful video she posted to TikTok. "This has been the hardest few months of my life and something I never anticipated."

"It's been a lot," admits Lorraine, now 30, to PEOPLE about the last few weeks. "We're just taking things day-by-day, navigating things as they come."

"I got married to Luis when I was 23, so my entire twenties I was married to him and I was raising teenagers," she continues. "I think that the next few months is going to be a lot of me figuring out who I am on my own."

In the wake of their split, Joel has moved out to Texas, and Lorraine has stayed in Los Angeles, raising their 4- and 6-year-old daughters as a single mom.

"It's just a girls house now — we're going to make it a Barbie Dreamhouse," laughs Lorraine. "It's been really fun. It kind of just feels like a big sleepover every night."

Kelley Lorraine and Ana

She has also opened her home to Joel's 19-year-old daughter Ana, who's pursuing her dreams of becoming an actress. Though Lorraine — who is only 11 years older — is technically an ex-stepmom, she says that as Ana "got older, it transitioned away from a parental relationship to a friendship."

And Ana, Lorraine adds, "has been a huge help" in raising her two little ones: "She's always there if I need something," says the internet personality.

As for other supports, Lorraine says, "I've mainly been leaning on my family" — her mom and dad, who both live out of state, as well as one of her best friends from grade school who lives locally.

"It's a lot of phone calls to family because we're a little off on our own," she says.

In addition to her living arrangements, fans have also wondered what the split will mean for the future of Lorraine's social media accounts, which used to primarily feature videos of her and Joel together.

She candidly tells PEOPLE that she still doesn't have a definitive answer, though she's planning a trip to visit Joel in Austin, where they'll likely get back on camera together for some "co-parenting content."

"I think I would be comfortable making videos with him about co-parenting," says Lorraine. "I think that me and him are going to be able to stay friends, which I think is going to be a really good thing — especially for the kids."

Lorraine is also spending some more time focusing on other aspects of her life. She's a mom to four dogs: two Australian Shepards, a German Shepard and a golden retriever. And she's working with Ana on her budding career in acting, helping her memorize lines and film self-tapes.

In their downtime, she and her girls even got to attend the premiere of The Bad Guys 2 — the first time they had been to a fancy Hollywood event all together.

"The girls had a ton of fun," Lorraine says. "They thought it was the coolest thing ever. They still talk about it."

She adds: "This was the first time that I got to bring Ana, which was really exciting because she's pursuing acting. It was cool for her to be able to see that side of everything."
