- *Interview With the Vampire* season 3 will officially be titled *The Vampire Lestat*.

- Sam Reid's Lestat will share his side of the story while finding stardom as a rock icon.

- Season 3 is slated to arrive in 2026.

Lestat is ready for his close-up.

After two seasons spent with Jacob Anderson's Louis de Pointe du Lac, AMC's series is shifting its focus to Sam Reid's Lestat de Lioncourt. This new perspective is so momentous that the series is changing its name from* Interview With the Vampire *to* The Vampire Lestat, *the same name as Anne Rice's 1985 novel about Lestat's rise to rock stardom.

Season 3, which is slated to premiere in 2026, arrives amid an exciting period of expansion for the franchise. Following the success of *Interview With the Vampire*, the network has embraced Rice's expansive bibliography, building its interconnected Immortal Universe, which includes series such as *Mayfair Witches* and *Talamasca: The Secret Order*.

Excited as fans are to see Reid's lethal Lestat writhe beneath the spotlight, they also have questions. Does *The Vampire Lestat* still have room for Louis and the series' supporting cast? How faithful is it to the book? And, perhaps most importantly, when does it come out?

Read on for everything we know so far about *Interview With the Vampire* season 3.**

Will there be a season 3 of Interview With the Vampire?

Sophie Giraud/AMC

Yes, AMC renewed *Interview With a Vampire* for a third season in June 2024, just before the season 2 finale.

"When you buy the rights to 18 Anne Rice novels that have sold more than 150 million copies, in your wildest dreams you hope there's a show as good as *Interview *on the other end," Dan McDermott, AMC Studios head, said in a press release. "What [showrunner] Rolin [Jones] has done with these stories and characters... as the steward of this universe, has exceeded the loftiest version of our expectations. We can't wait to see where this creative team takes the series from here and know we are walking alongside an incredibly loyal and passionate base of fans who feel as strongly about this material as we do."**

What is Interview With the Vampire season 3 about?

Season 3 of *Interview With the Vampire* will shift perspectives, with Lestat taking center stage following the publication of *Interview With the Vampire*, the "fictional memoir" Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) penned with the help of Louis. Lestat, as you might imagine, is not pleased with how he's depicted.

"In season three, resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller* Interview With The Vampire*, the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can — by starting a band and going on tour," reads the season's official logline. What follows is a "sexy pilgrimage across space, time, and trauma," with the events of the first two seasons being revisited from Lestat's perspective.

His perspective is key, as Jones, the showrunner, made it clear to EW in a season 2 postmortem that the only scene featuring "the real Lestat" was in that season's finale, when Lestat and Louis reunited in New Orleans. Otherwise, Jones clarified, Reid has only been able to play Lestat as he exists in the minds of others.

"I don't think we should ever try and say that Louis is a liar or unreliable — he's remembered things that are perfectly valid," Reid told ** in July. "But I don't think that Lestat has the same intention to tell his story as Louis has. He's not trying to necessarily unpack something that might be wound in his head incorrectly. Lestat is much more aware of the structures in which the storytelling might or might not take place."

He continued, noting how Lestat aims to tell his own version of the events via "music, music videos, and recordings," adding that the creative team behind the series is "finding a wonderful, cool way to weave that through a lot of the denser parts."**

Is* Interview With the Vampire* season 3 a musical?

Sophie Giraud/AMC

*Interview With the Vampire* season 3 is not a musical in the traditional sense, though Reid told EW that he sings quite a lot in the upcoming episodes, which will feature original songs penned by composer Daniel Hart.

"I've been with him working with him on the songs first," Reid said. "It's been a really interesting way to approach a character, by coming in through the music to start with before we had any scripts. Trying to work out the character's arcs through the songs has been an adventure in itself."

Jones also spoke with EW about incorporating the songs into the drama. "What you didn't want is songs just dropped in," he said. "Quite often, we would build scenes and story arcs around songs that Daniel wrote and said, 'I think Lestat would have sang this' ... He's on a rock tour, so songs will be sung. A lot of them are on-camera performed, and then a lot of them are tied to memories that we have, and sometimes we get super weird with them. And sometimes they're wallpaper, too, for storytelling."**

Who's returning for* Interview With the Vampire* season 3?

Jacob Anderson as Louis De Point Du Lac and Sam Reid as Lestat De Lioncourt - Interview of the Vampire _ Season 2, Episode 1

Sam Reid as Lestat and Jacob Anderson as Louis in 'Interview With the Vampire' season 2.

Larry Horricks/AMC

Reid will lead season 3 of *Interview With the Vampire* (ahem, *The Vampire Lestat*), but that doesn't mean Anderson's Louis will be left in the dust. That said, he may manifest in ways you don't expect. Since we're getting Lestat's side of the story, Louis will be rendered as he exists through the eyes of Lestat.**

"Sam worked really hard for two years as a supporting actor, and I think Jacob is very excited to do the same thing for him, and put Sam front and center," Jones told EW. "We've just scratched the surface with Sam, who's an incredible actor."

According to the synopsis, season 3 will also see appearances from Bogosian's Molloy, as well as ancient vampire Armand (Assad Zaman) and Raglan James (Justin Kirk), the Talamasca member who's also set to appear on *Talamasca: The Secret Order*.

At the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con, it was also announced that Delainey Hayles would reprise her role as Claudia, the (doomed) teenager who becomes a surrogate daughter to Louis and Lestat.

Who's joining the cast of Interview With the Vampire season 3?

Sam Reid in Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire, Season 3

Sophie Giraud/AMC

Several key characters from *The Vampire Chronicles* will debut in season 3, the most notable of which is Lestat's mother, Gabrielle, who is here named Gabriella and played by Jennifer Ehle (*Lioness*).

"She's coming in like an asteroid in season 3," Jones said at Comic-Con. "She's about to destroy everything in her wake."

Season 3 will also see the arrival of Magnus, a key figure from Lestat's past, played by Damien Atkins (*Slings & Arrows*). Christopher Heyerdahl (*Peacemaker*), meanwhile, will play the Roman vampire Marius, a fixture of Rice's book series.

Also joining the cast are Ella Ballentine (*The Dark and the Wicked*) and Jeanine Serralles (*Apples Never Fall*) as Baby Jenks and Christine Claire, respectively.**

Is there a Interview With the Vampire season 3 trailer?

As of this writing, there's no official trailer for* Interview With the Vampire *season 3, though AMC *did* drop a teaser teasing Lestat's life as a rock icon.

In the clip, which sees Reid's Lestat singing and sawing a violin, fans are treated to a brief snippet of Lestat's anthemic music.

Reid, meanwhile, says that Lestat is "living a rockstar life in its most hedonistic, authentic way," adding, "Right now, he wants to be completely engulfed in the music. It lights a fire in him."

Is there an Interview With the Vampire season 3 release date?

AMC has yet to announce an exact release date for *Interview With the Vampire* season 3, but it's currently slated to arrive in 2026.**

The Top 25 college football schedule in Week 6 might look fairly tame compared to last weekend's loaded slate. But that doesn't mean there won't be a surprise or two. Our panel of pigskin prognosticators are back to try and figure out where they might happen.

The Saturday headliner features No. 11 Alabama, fresh off its win at Georgia, returning home to take on No. 17 Vanderbilt, as the Commodores look to take down the Crimson Tide for a second consecutive season. The other clash of ranked teams is the Sunshine State showdown as No. 3 Miami heads to Tallahassee to face No. 19 Florida State.

Other games of note include No. 1 Ohio State returning home to meet Minnesota in Big Ten action, a somewhat unexpected battle of unbeatens in the Big 12 with No. 14 Texas Tech visiting Houston, and a couple of playoff teams from a season ago getting together as No. 21 Notre Dame hosts Boise State.

A.J. Brown, whose Philadelphia Eagles are one of two undefeated teams in the NFL, spent part of his Wednesday taking accountability for letting his frustration get the best of him after Sunday's win.

Again, after a win. That improved the Eagles' record to 4-0.

It has been a weird start for the Eagles. They're 4-0 with three quality wins. They also haven't put together four solid quarters in the same game. For a quarter or half of each game they've looked nothing like a Super Bowl contender. But they've done enough to win. It just hasn't been a smooth operation. Ask Brown.

Sunday is an interesting test. The Denver Broncos are 2-2 but that doesn't tell the whole story. The two losses came to what look like playoff teams, the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers. Both losses came on the road with no time left on the clock. The two losses weren't good but it means the Broncos are still well under the radar. They have been far from perfect themselves, but it's still a very good team.

The Eagles are 3.5-point favorites at BetMGM, and while that's not a huge number for a top-tier home team against a 2-2 opponent, it still might be a bit high. The Broncos can compete. The pick is for the Broncos, with their strong defense and an offense that looked a lot better Monday night, to cover. And if the Broncos win, there will really be something to talk about in Philadelphia this week.

Here are the Week 5 NFL picks, with odds from BetMGM:

49ers (+8.5) over Rams

The line started at Rams -3.5 and has continued to grow due to all those 49ers injuries. Brock Purdy will not play. Neither will Jauan Jennings or Ricky Pearsall, who are also ruled out. Still, the 49ers are a well-coached team that still has talent, even with key players out. The Rams are very good but it's a short week for them too, and the 49ers can find a way to keep it relatively close.

Vikings (-3.5) over Browns

When Yahoo Sports' Ben Fawkes did a survey of oddsmakers, to find out what the point-spread value was between the starting QB and his backup for all 32 teams, the dropoff from Joe Flacco to Kenny Pickett was about 1.5 points. Pickett isn't around, of course. It's rookie Dillon Gabriel who takes the job from Flacco this week. A third-round rookie probably has less value to the spread than Pickett, who is flawed but has at least played. And yet, there has been practically no line movement. In fact, the lookahead line last week was Vikings -4.5 at some books. Yes, Carson Wentz wasn't great last week and the Browns defense is fierce. But there should have been a line move to account for Gabriel making his first start against a very good Vikings defense, and there wasn't.

Colts (-7) over Raiders

It's a lot of points, but the Colts have proven they're a good team. Some terrible mental mistakes cost them a win at the Rams last week, but they played well enough to win. Meanwhile, the Raiders are sliding fast and have offensive line issues on on top of it.

Giants (+2) over Saints

The Saints have been competitive in three of their four games. They have to see this as a good shot to get a win after an 0-4 start. It's still a bit surprising to see them favored. The Giants will be a different team with Jaxson Dart, though also a different team without Malik Nabers. I can't back the Saints as a favorite.

Jets (+2.5) over Cowboys

The Cowboys came close to beating the Packers, but let's not forget that the defense is one of the NFL's worst and the offense still doesn't have CeeDee Lamb. They overcame that for a big game last week but it's tough to keep asking Dak Prescott to perform magic. The Jets have been wholly unimpressive, but this is a realistic chance to get a win.

Panthers (+1.5) over Dolphins

It's not good news for the Panthers that they're not favored at home against a Dolphins team that has only beaten the Jets and is without Tyreek Hill. But Carolina has done little to earn any respect. Maybe they can replicate whatever got into them for a random 30-0 win over the Falcons two weeks ago.

Texans (-1.5) over Ravens

I don't know how the Ravens can win with all their injuries, including one to Lamar Jackson. If the injury report doesn't get better by Sunday, it's going to look like a preseason lineup. The Titans aren't great — they looked good last week, but that was against the Titans — but the injuries for the Ravens are too much to ignore.

Titans (+7.5) over Cardinals

Backing the Titans is exhausting. There's no team in the NFL that is more poorly coached than Tennessee. But I'm not sure a Cardinals team without James Conner or Trey Benson is worth backing as a 7.5-point favorite. A pick of the Titans is not a confident pick though.

Buccaneers (+3.5) over Seahawks

These two teams don't get the same attention as other NFC contenders, but they're both really good teams. What do you do when two teams you are high on face each other? Take the points.

Bengals (+10.5) over Lions

I am not a fan of double-digit NFL road favorites. This matchup tests that. The Bengals look like a team that knows without a doubt that it can't compete this season. The Lions look great. But 10.5 points is a lot, especially for a home team, so this is the reluctant pick.

Chargers (-2.5) over Commanders

The Chargers have some serious offensive line issues. Maybe that's a problem they can't overcome. And the Commanders should have Jayden Daniels back this week. But I'm not willing to give up on the Chargers being one of the best teams in the NFL. If they're at home giving less than a field goal, they're the pick.

Patriots (+8) over Bills

The Bills are 4-0, but just 2-2 against the spread. There's no reason to worry about them, but they also aren't blowing everyone away. The Patriots weren't great for two weeks, they gave away a game in Week 3, and then looked much better in Week 4. This is a much bigger challenge. But they can compete.

Chiefs (-3.5) over Jaguars

The Chiefs looked like a different team on Sunday. Was that due to the Ravens' struggles? Somewhat, but it seemed like more than that. If you give Patrick Mahomes just one viable weapon, like he had with Xavier Worthy last week, things look better. The Jaguars have been winning games but are very sloppy with a lot of penalties, bad mental mistakes and quarterback play that hasn't been great yet.

Last week: 7-9

Season to date: 30-32-2

When New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart takes the field in Week 5, he'll have some extra motivation to pick up another win. Dart admitted he has a "chip" on his shoulder after the team's opponent, the New Orleans Saints, passed on him in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Dart met with the Saints multiple times during the draft process. But when the team's first-round pick came up at No. 9, it selected offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. instead.

Dart lasted until the No. 25 overall pick, when the Giants traded back into the first round to select him. The Saints responded by snagging a quarterback with their second-round pick, taking Tyler Shough at No. 40 overall.

While Dart is happy to be in New York, he still harbors some feelings about the way things went down in the draft, according to ESPN.

"There is always a chip on your shoulder any time something like that happens," Dart said of how the draft unfolded with the Saints. "But yeah, I'm just going to go out there and play as hard as I can."

If he performs as well as he did in his first start, Dart should have the Giants in a good spot. Dart was impressive in Week 4. The rookie completed 13 of 20 attempts for 111 yards and one passing touchdown. He also rushed for 54 yards and a rushing touchdown during the outing.

That was enough to lead the Giants to their first win in 2025. It wasn't an easy matchup, either, as Dart took down the previously undefeated Los Angeles Chargers.

On paper, the Saints should be an easier matchup. The team sits at 0-4 though four weeks and hasn't gotten things moving on offense. With Spencer Rattler under center, the Saints rank 28th in points scored. Despite those struggles, Shough has yet to see the field. The team is even worse on defense, where it ranks 30th in points allowed.

That should set up Dart for a nice revenge game in Week 5. While going out and putting up a strong statistical performance would likely be cathartic for Dart, merely leading the Giants to another win should be satisfying enough for the rookie.

JAKARTA (Reuters) -Indonesia's nuclear agency is still determining the size of the area affected by radioactive contamination linked to a scrap metal plant, with 10 points in an industrial zone near Jakarta found with high levels of exposure, officials said on Thursday.

The contamination was first detected in a batch of shrimp shipped to the United States in August by a local company also based in the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate, after which Indonesia began sweeping scans there.

"Hopefully, by early next week we will know the total size of the contaminated area," said Bara Hasibuan, a spokesperson for the investigation into the incident, adding Indonesia's nuclear agency would make that determination.

"We're not taking this lightly. For us, this is serious."

A scrap metal factory owned by foreign investors is being treated as the epicentre of the contamination, documents obtained by Reuters show, confirmed by another official.

Indonesia said this week it was providing updates on the probe to the global nuclear watchdog and the United States.

The same contaminant was also found in a shipment of cloves last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

Caesium 137 is present in the environment mainly from nuclear testing or accidents, like Chernobyl and Fukushima, according to the FDA's website. Indonesia has no nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants.

Indonesian authorities have found 10 points with radionuclide radiation for Caesium 137, Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq told Reuters, up from the initial six locations. The estate is still operating, but under close monitoring.

"We have declared PT PMT (Peter Metal Technology) as the epicentre with a 5 km perimeter," Nurofiq said, adding a special incident status had been imposed at the estate.

He said movement had been limited there and teams of police, military and religious leaders were going door-to-door to inform people of the danger and ways to avoid it.

Authorities examined over 1,500 local people and workers and found nine were exposed, spokesperson Hasibuan said, adding those had undergone special medical treatment.

Decontamination measures were being taken and special equipment used on trucks entering and leaving to ensure they were free of contamination, he said.

PT PMT deals with non-ferrous base metal manufacturing and grinding, and set up in the estate two years ago, according to Indonesia's law ministry registry reviewed by Reuters.

The nationality of the investors is not clear in the document, but it was set up by foreign direct investment. The company did not immediately respond to questions sent by Reuters to a cellphone number listed in the registry.

The estate, 68 km from Jakarta, covers 3,175 hectares and contains more than 270 local and foreign companies, in areas from food processing to automotive components, according to its website.
