NEW YORK — The play of the night belongs to Yankees third baseman Ryan McMahon, who tracked Jarren Duran's foul pop-up with one out in the top of the eighth inning to the Red Sox dugout ... and caught the ball while his whole body flipped over the railing.

McMahon was not hurt on the play and received a standing ovation from the sellout Yankee Stadium crowd.

Hear that? It's the groans from the celebrity cast of *Special Forces: World's Toughest Test*.

This season, the likes of TV veterans Jussie Smollett, *Sister Wives'* Kody Brown, as well as athletes such as Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East (and her husband Andrew) and former NFL star Johnny Manziel have taken the challenge to complete exercises similar to the grueling ones done by Special Forces trainees in real life.

Recruits have wasted no time taking on tasks that require them to repel from a helicopter hovering in the air or being submerged underwater for 20 seconds. And those aren't the only assignments they've taken on. There's also been a lot of running, bear crawls through the mud, and being called out by their instructors if they let up for even a moment.

The most recent episode on Oct. 2 saw the departures of two reality icons. *The Real Housewives of New Jersey *star Teresa Giudice ended up quitting when her daughter Gia, who is also competing this season, was summoned to fight Olympian Christie Pearce Rampone in hand-to-hand combat. "All right, I'm withdrawing," Teresa said when Gia's number was called. "I can't see you fight." She later explained, "I'm not a quitter. But it's gonna be really hard for me to not be able to step in if she is in a vulnerable position. I just want to protect her."

Meanwhile, actress and *America's Next Top Model* winner Eva Marcille was eliminated for safety reasons after suffering a terifying medical emergency during an earlier challenge.

Robbie Williams, a former member of the '90s boy band Take That who's gone on to a successful solo career, says he struggles with Tourette syndrome.

"I've just realized that I have Tourette's, but they don't come out," Williams said on Wednesday's episode of the I'm ADHD! No, You're Not podcast.

Tim Roney/Getty

"So there are intrusive thoughts that happen," he continued. "I was just walking down the road the other day, and I realized that these intrusive thoughts are inside Tourette's. Now a lot of things that I say and do that are unusual are part of the reason why I'm me and I've done what I've done. But I did realize the other day that I do have Tourette's. It just doesn't come out."

The Mayo Clinic describes the condition as one that "involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that can't be easily controlled," such as repeated shrugging of the shoulders, blinking of the eyes, or blurting out sounds or even words considered offensive.

In addition to being part of the group behind hits such as "Back for Good" between 1990 and 1995 (although he rejoined briefly in 2010), Williams went on to a successful solo career. He's released 20 solo albums since 1997, featuring songs such as "Angels" — later covered by artists such as Jessica Simpson — as well as "Let Me Entertain You" and "Millennium."

"You would think that a stadium full of people professing their love to you would work," Williams said in the interview. "Whatever it is inside me cannot hear it, cannot take it in."

In the same interview, Williams, who's now 51, said he also believes that he has autism, because he has "autistic traits" around "interaction" with others.

The same institution defines autism spectrum disorder as "a condition related to brain development that affects how people see others and socialize with them," which "causes problems in communication and getting along with others socially. The condition also includes limited and repeated patterns of behavior."

Lionel Richie and Kelly Clarkson spoke about grief on her eponymous talk show

The "Endless Love" singer's memoir, Truly, was published on Tuesday, Sept. 30

Lionel Richie has left Kelly Clarkson speechless with this mic-drop moment.

During the Thursday, Oct. 2 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the "Dancing on the Ceiling" singer and American Idol winner spoke about grief and how they can overcome it.

"I do think a lot of people deal with grief in such a different way, but I love that you say, 'Grief is the great teacher of what matters most,'" Clarkson, 43, mused of a line from Richie's memoir, Truly.

"And I think, no matter how you deal with grief, it is very different for everyone. But I do find that very, very true. How did you figure that out?"

Richie, 76, referenced an old expression: that grief is "real."

"It's a real moment where you can't phone it in, but at the same time, we rehearse things. You can't rehearse grief," he explained. "You can't rehearse the loss of your mother or your father or a friend. You can't rehearse that."

"It hits you in waves," Clarkson agreed.

"And so, what I found is that when I get involved with the word uncontrollable grief, I let go," added Richie. "Believe it or not, I look forward to finding out who am I going to be really [because] that's the real me."

"If you hurt so badly, that means you love so deeply," he concluded, which Clarkson reflected on briefly. "Aw, s---," she said.

"Hold on, I can save you, don't worry," the "Brick House" singer said, before jumping out of his seat to place his hand on Clarkson's forehead, miming an exorcism. Both laughed, and Clarkson threw up her hands, declaring, "I feel healed."

Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died of malignant melanoma in August. The former couple shared two children: daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington Alexander, 9.

Per an official description of Truly, "Lionel revisits hilarious and harrowing events to inspire all who doubt themselves or feel their dreams don't matter" in the memoir.

Richie "chronicles lessons learned during his unlikely story of remarkable success—his dramatic transformation from painfully shy, "tragically" late bloomer to world-class entertainer and composer of love songs that have played as the soundtrack of our lives."

Truly is available for purchase wherever books are sold.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears headed into their bye breathing easier, with back-to-back wins and a .500 record.

They'll take that after a rough start to the season.

"I think the first four games builds confidence, and I understand the first two were losses," Williams said. "I think it builds a lot of momentum and confidence. But ... we've got to go look at everything and be truthful for ourselves."

The Bears (2-2) have room to improve. But they're in a far better place than they were two weeks ago after squeezing out a nailbiter at Las Vegas, with their prized quarterback orchestrating a late touchdown drive and Josh Blackwell blocking a last-minute field goal to preserve a 25-24 victory.

That came on the heels of a 31-14 win over Dallas at home in which Williams — the No. 1 overall draft pick last year — tied a career high with four touchdown passes and Ben Johnson got his first win as an NFL head coach.

Considering how the season began, the Bears are in a decent spot. After all, they blew an 11-point lead in prime time against Minnesota and then got blown out 52-21 by the Lions, nearly matching a franchise record for points allowed in Johnson's return to Detroit. They'll try to keep it going next week at Washington, where last season's collapse began following a bye, ultimately costing coach Matt Eberflus his job.

Williams continues to adjust to Johnson's system.

"Just being more comfortable with everything that Ben and the guys have thrown at me, just being able to grasp it all," he said. "But also be able to go out there and play a game and play it well for the team. That's most important."

While Williams' development and ability to solidify a position that has long haunted Chicago remains the big storyline, it's not the only one. After rebuilding the interior of the offensive line by trading for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson and signing center Drew Dalman, the Bears have issues at both tackle spots.

Johnson switched things up last week, giving left tackle Braxton Jones the hook in the second quarter. Theo Benedet, making his first career start, moved from right tackle to the left side. Rookie Ozzy Trapilo came in at right tackle and played 40 snaps with starter Darnell Wright missing the game because of an elbow injury.

Jones, a fifth-round draft pick out of Southern Utah in 2022, has 44 starts for the Bears. He wasn't announced as the left tackle until the week leading up to the opener, after competing in training camp with Trapilo, Benedet and second-year pro Kiran Amegadjie.

Benedet, a second-year player from the University of British Columbia, performed better than Jones last week. Trapilo, a second-rounder from Boston College, did a better job keeping Max Crosby in check and seemed to confirm that he is indeed a right tackle rather than a left tackle, at least for now.

All of which raises another question: What do the Bears do when Wright returns?

Wright has been used exclusively on the right side since the Bears drafted him 10th overall in 2023, but if they want to play him and Trapilo together, a switch to the left side might be in order. If the Bears opt not to move Wright, then what does that mean for Trapilo — particularly if they don't think he can play on the left side?

"I think we need to look at all four games so far as a whole," Johnson said. "We'll get a good feel here over the next few days of where we're at schematically: What are we doing well? What aren't we doing well? And I think we'll really have a good grasp of what we need to do going forward. It's too early for me to tell you that."

The Bears rank 24th in the NFL in rushing and are averaging just 3.8 yards per carry. They're not getting big gains from their running backs, with veteran D'Andre Swift averaging 3.3 yards per run and rookie Kyle Monangai at 3.6 yards.

Chicago isn't stopping the run, either.

The Bears have allowed a league-worst 658 yards rushing, with Las Vegas racking up 240. They hadn't given up that many in a game since Detroit went for 265 in Week 17 of the 2022 season.

"A lot of it also is not getting enough back penetration with the front four, front seven, whatever it may be," safety Kevin Byard said. "And then obviously, on the back end, guys like myself included, when those runs do break out, we need to be able to get those guys down."
