David Moyes says he understands fans' frustration but insists West Ham are 'not heading within the incorrect course' after they have been thrashed 6-0 at home by Arsenal.

Arsenal stored the strain on their title rivals by thrashing their London rivals in their very own yard on Sunday afternoon.

After William Saliba gave them the lead after half-an-hour, the floodgates opened with a Bukayo Saka penalty and objectives from Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard putting the Gunners 4-0 up earlier than the break.

Thousands of fans walked out of the London Stadium in disgust before Saka and Declan Rice struck in the second-half to condemn the Irons to their worst house defeat in Premier League history.

Though West Ham remain a powerful eighth in the table, with Europa League glory still on supply, there's vital strain on Moyes, whom lots of supporters have misplaced religion in.

This end result, the worst Premier League house defeat in the membership's historical past, won't have helped the manager whose contract is up at the finish of the season.

But the former Manchester United and Everton boss was keen to defend himself post-match, claiming that the gamers had to take equal duty for the outcome, and reminded fans that the club have been in a a lot worst state when he joined them simply over four years in the past.

'Yes, it definitely is [up there as one of the most disappointing days as West Ham manager]. It's a type of days which you don't need to occur very often, and it occurred at present,' Moyes informed Sky Sports.

'It's not been like my teams up to now. I'll take a little bit of time and take a look at it and see if I can repair it. I take the duty, I decide the group but the players need to take duty.

'It's really essential we do those jobs rather well. We'll all the time try to be as properly organised as we may be. Arsenal have been excellent – we mustn't take that away. We weren't good.'

Responding to the followers waking out, he stated: 'I'm a football supporter. I understand that. I don't assume the path the membership is heading in is the mistaken course.

'It's grown drastically since we got here in. We have been preventing relegation. We're not preventing relegation as we speak.

'We have been enjoying one of the prime teams in the country who we took three points off earlier in the season so I've to say the club is in a very good place. We've had setbacks via the season and we'll attempt to come again from this one the most effective we will.'

He doubled down on these comments in his post-match press convention, adding: 'To be part of a football membership and be an enormous football supporter, there's robust occasions and West Ham will know that greater than anybody.

'I look again and once I came in we needed to attempt to keep away from relegation, and we prevented relegation. The journey we've all been on within the final three or four years making an attempt to qualify for Europe, attending to a semi-final, and also you all know the great occasions we had in Prague about six months in the past.

'That won't make individuals feel too much happier with at this time's outcome, however I feel it's just essential that we keep in mind that these good occasions in soccer can be dangerous occasions and right now was a nasty day for us.'
