Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmoller has revealed that he apologised to Donny van de Beek after Manchester United's on-loan midfielder was overlooked of the German membership's Europa Convention League squad.
Van de Beek did not make at impression at United following his £40 million transfer from Ajax in 2020 and was allowed to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season.
Nevertheless, Van de Beek has made just three Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt thus far and will not function within the Europa Convention League as he was omitted from their revised squad for the knockout levels.

Toppmoller says he has been impressed by Van de Beek's response as he scored one and offered two assists in a behind-closed-doors friendly towards the Underneath-21s last Sunday.
