Britney Spears has had enough of the claims surfacing from ex Kevin Federline's upcoming memoir, *You Thought You Knew*.
"The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys," the pop superstar wrote in an emotional post on X on Wednesday.
The pair, who welcomed two sons during their three-year marriage from 2004-2007, have been locked in an online back and forth as allegations from *You Thought You Knew *begin to spring up. After reacting to an alarming claim that Spears sometimes watched their sons sleep "with a knife in her hand," Spears took to X defend her relationships with Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.
"Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life," she wrote. "Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me."

Spears shared that she believes Sean and Jayden "need to take responsibility for themselves. With one son only seeing me for 45 min in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too. From now on I will let them know when I am available."
Regarding the rest of Federline's book, Spears remarked, "Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here. I will always love them and if you really know me, you won't pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking. I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same."****

Federline writes in the forthcoming memoir, "It's become impossible to pretend everything's OK. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we're getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don't change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces."
On Tuesday, a representative for Spears responded to Federline's claims made in regard to Spears' parenting, telling **, "With news from Kevin's book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin."
The representative continued, "All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir."****

Spears' memoir, 2023's *The Woman In Me*, detailed the painful dissolution of Spears and Federline's 2007 breakup from Spears' perspective.
"When I married Kevin, I meant it with all my heart," she wrote. "If you look into my eyes in my wedding photos, you can see it: I was so in love and so ready for a new phase of my life to start. I wanted babies with this man. I wanted a cozy home. I wanted to grow old with him."**
But among other things, Spears credited Federline's love of "fame and power" as spelling the end of their relationship.
"Again and again in my life, I've seen fame and money ruin people. And I saw it happen with Kevin in slow motion," she wrote.
