After playing Larry David's wife for years on the beloved HBO series *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, actress Cheryl Hines' real-life relationship with the comedian might've suffered from political divide.
The star — and wife of President Donald Trump's controversial Department of Health and Human Services head, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — revealed an update on her friendship with liberal comedian David during an appearance on Billy Bush's *Hot Mics* talk show.
"I think that relationship changed a little, hasn't it?" Bush asked Hines, who briefly paused before answering.

"I haven't talked to him in a while," Hines admitted.
Bush jumped in to ask if it was "since the screening of the finale" of *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, which concluded in April 2024, following the season's Los Angeles premiere in January of that year.
Hines replied, telling Bush, "Yeah, probably" that their final meeting occurred at the premiere for the 12th and final season.

"I mean, he loved you from the beginning," Bush observed, referencing a portion of Hines' new book, *Unscripted*, that recounts her audition for *Curb* and the joy she felt over landing the gig earlier in her career.
"You said, 'This is the greatest audition and greatest moment of my life' when you got this," Bush said.
"I love Larry, and I think Larry loves me," Hines said in response, after reminiscing of the positive feelings she holds toward the show and David's contributions to her career.

"I think it's just politics, it makes conversations..." she said, without finishing the sentence as Bush spoke over her to get to his next point about David's past musings, including an April 2025 essay he wrote for the *New York Times* titled "My Dinner With Adolf."
** has reached out to representatives for David for comment on Hines' remarks.
*Hines* first joined *Curb* in 2000 and was in the main cast of every season except for season 8, across which she starred in a guest capacity.
The actress earned two Emmy nominations for her performance as Cheryl David, in 2003 and 2006.
Hines' press tour for *Unscripted* has run the gamut of the political spectrum, with the actress appearing on Bush's show, conservative commentator Meghan McCain's web series, and *The View* — the last of which Hines criticized elsewhere in her *Hot Mics* discussion.
Hines told Bush that she was "actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on *The View*, but it was what it was" — specifically after she went head-to-head with cohost Sunny Hostin, to whom she urged, "May I finish?" after the legal expert alleged that RFK Jr. repeatedly spread "a lot of misinformation, a lot of chaos, a lot of confusion" from his political post.

When Bush asked if Hines can tell if people didn't read her book before interviewing her, she said, "I don't think the ladies on *The View* asked me one question about my book. But, you know, that's okay."
