DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Bayern Munich stood to benefit as its two closest Bundesliga challengers Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Dortmund's Yan Couto leveled the score to cancel out Christoph Baumgartner's opener for Leipzig. The result gives Bayern a chance to go four points clear of Dortmund at the top of the standings if the defending champion beats Eintracht Frankfurt later Saturday.

Kasper Hjulmand extended his unbeaten start as Bayer Leverkusen coach to a sixth game as Ernest Poku and Christian Kofane scored in a 2-0 win over Union Berlin, though left back Alejandro Grimaldo went off injured.

Hjulmand's team got through a game without conceding for the first time since the Danish coach replaced Erik ten Hag last month after just two league games of the new season.

Eighteen-year-old American defender Noahkai Banks opened the scoring with his first Bundesliga goal as Augsburg beat Wolfsburg 3-1. Starting a league game for the first time since February, Banks scored in just the third minute.

Another early goal decided Werder Bremen's 1-0 win over St. Pauli as Samuel Mbangula scored in the second minute.

League leader Bayern visits Frankfurt later.
