Filming *Now You See Me* wasn't just about magic tricks and plot twists for Mark Ruffalo — it was also about the art of escape.

The actor explained as much while reuniting with fellow Horsemen Woody Harrelson for an episode of his *Where Everybody Knows Your Name* podcast. While strolling down memory lane, Ruffalo took a moment to remind Harrelson about one of their more eventful nights out, when the stars very suddenly found themselves in the middle of a bar fight.

"We were shooting *Now You See Me* in New Orleans, completely on the streets. Totally wild," Ruffalo recalled, setting the scene for Harrelson's cohost Ted Danson. "Capturing stuff on a long lens, getting dragged into bars during the middle of a scene, like in the middle of Mardi Gras."

One night, that chaos reached a new level as Ruffalo and Harrelson stopped by an overflowing bar for a few drinks.

"It was a packed place," Ruffalo told Danson. "And a woman came up to him and she said, 'Oh my God, I love you so much.' Woody put his hand on her arm and he said, 'Oh, thank you. Thank you, darling.' And this guy comes over and he pushes her outta the way, and he shoves Woody."

Danson, who has known Harrelson since he joined the cast of *Cheers* in 1985, immediately shook his head at this development. "Oh, bad bad," he said. "Not good."

"Bad," Ruffalo agreed. "Because Woody's first response is not 'shove someone back,' but 'immediately punch them in the face.'"

"Yes," Danson confirmed, as Harrelson laughed at the memory.

"Which is the right thing to do, by the way," Ruffalo admitted. "It's the absolute right thing to do. But then a whole melee broke out in this bar. I was in the middle of it and it was turning into a— it was getting to become a whole thing… And I grabbed you."

"That's right," Harrelson confirmed.

"I grabbed you and I pulled you out," Ruffalo continued "'Cause I was like, 'This could be fun, but it also just could go so disastrously wrong because you and I might be able to handle ourselves but the rest of the folks we were with… I don't think so."

Commending Ruffalo's foresight, Danson quipped, "I'm embarrassed to say that I would've been the guy who said 'I'll be right back, I'll call someone.'"

As Danson's reaction to the story implies, this isn't the first time Harrelson's name and "bar fight" have been uttered in the same sentence. Just last year, Danson recounted meeting the the *Hunger Games* alum for the very first time, after Harrelson had gotten into a "bar fight" and been "carjacked" all in the same day.

Danson said on *Jimmy Kimmel Live* that his initial impression of the actor was, "Oh dear God, that's who that is," but that quickly changed when Harrelson turned around and asked, "Could you look at this poem I wrote?"

Danson explained, "He is a whimsical creature. He's astounding. He's such a bundle of contradictions."

Harrelson is set to reunite with Ruffalo for *Now You See Me, Now You Don't*, a card-slinging heist threequel that sees the original Four Horsemen (Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Jesse Eisenberg) join forces with a new set of illusionists to take on a worldwide crime network.
