The Week 5 Sunday slate kicks off early with another international game, this time in London, as the Minnesota Vikings take on the Cleveland Browns. Both teams are coming off tough losses in Week 4 and looking to get back into the win column.

Pressure has continued mounting for Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski to make a quarterback change, and that shift finally happened Wednesday, when it was announced that rookie Dillon Gabriel would make his first NFL start in London, with veteran Joe Flacco headed to the bench.

Flacco and the offense had underperformed through four games, averaging just 14 points per game, which is second worst in the NFL to Tennessee, which averages 12.8. With the offense struggling with Flacco at the helm, it was only a matter of time before Stefanski would have to give either Gabriel or fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders an opportunity. Sanders will remain at QB3 on the depth chart.

While the offense has been in shambles, the defense is currently ranked No. 1 in total yards allowed at 222.5, more than 20 yards better than Atlanta at No. 2. Despite giving up some points to Detroit and Baltimore, Cleveland's defense possesses one of the more stout fronts in the league with 2023 DPOY Myles Garrett leading the charge and will look to exert its will on Minnesota's offense in Week 5.

Minnesota is playing its second and final international game of the season after falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, last Sunday. Wentz will fill in for J.J. McCarthy for a third straight week, with the team having split his first two starts. Wentz passed for 350 yards against the Steelers but was sacked six times and threw two interceptions in the 24-21 loss.

The Vikings will be looking for more out of the running game after rushing for 70 yards last week with Jordan Mason leading the pack, filling in at RB1 with Aaron Jones on injured reserve. Penalties were also an issue for Minnesota against Pittsburgh, as it drew eight yellow flags.

The Vikings executed a strong bounce-back drive after fumbling on their opening offensive possession, driving 50 yards down the field before head coach Kevin O'Connell executed the perfect trick play.

Running back Cam Akers, who was elevated from the practice squad for this matchup In the absence of Aaron Jones, takes the direct snap and drops a 32-yard dime to tight end Josh Oliver for the touchdown!

It was a beautiful first two drives for Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins, who totaled 48 yards on six carries to open up the day.

Judkins, selected in the second year of the 2025 NFL Draft, had missed much of the offseason dealing with legal troubles, but he's been off to a solid start in the league, with 95-plus scrimmage yards and a score in two of his first three NFL games.

With the run game going strong, Kevin Stefanski sets up the pass perfectly for rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who threw his first career touchdown to fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr. from the 1-yard line.

The Vikings' opening drive was short-lived.

After driving 36 yards, running back Jordan Mason fumbles the ball thanks to a peanut punch from Alex Wright, and Browns safety Grant Delpit recovers the ball at Minnesota's 42-yard line.

The Minnesota Vikings have won the opening coin toss and elected to defer, which means rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel is the first man up.

The Browns get the ball at the 40-yard line thanks to a penalty, as the kick ended up short of the landing zone, and the first play from scrimmage is a four-yard run from rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.

A holding penalty set the Browns up at second-and-16 on the following play. Gabriel attempts his first pass on the following play — a 12-yard gain over the middle to David Njoku.

Despite a nice gain on second-and-long, Gabriel was unable to connect on with fellow rookie WR Isaiah Bond on third down, and Cleveland punts.

It's been a bad run of luck for Browns quarterbacks in recent years ... well, and for the Browns in general. But that's especially been the case in games where quarterbacks are making their first career start, ESPN's Adam Schefter shares:

Dillon Gabriel is attempting to become the first Browns quarterback since 1999 to win his first career start. Since 1999, Browns QBs making their first start are 0-16 while throwing 14 touchdowns, 22 interceptions and leading their team to an average of 14.1 points per game. pic.twitter.com/n065FgJfMx

How has rookie Dillon Gabriel embraced the moment ahead of his first career start?

Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein shares a glimpse at Gabriel's experience leading up to Sunday's game:

As the Cleveland Browns prepared to give Dillon Gabriel his first start this weekend, the third-round rookie quarterback received a text.

In it was a picture. Of a fire station.

What?

This wasn't some joke about the Browns giving reason to panic after a 1-3 start, nor was the picture a mistake. Gabriel's friend was texting a message about his opportunity.

"Doors are open, garage doors are open, things are ready to go," Gabriel told reporters Wednesday. "And they're just waiting on that phone call to respond surgically.

The last time the Vikings and Browns faced off in England, in October of 2017, Vikings quarterback Case Keenum led the charge toward a win in place of the benched Sam Bradford.

Can the Browns flip the script with rookie Dillon Gabriel in Week 5?
