Hoda Kotb is not slowing down anytime soon.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the broadcaster, 61, revealed at the Forbes Power Women's Summit 2025 in New York City that she's using her 60s to "begin again" amid her new wellness app and book.

"I'm a beginner all over again," she said of her entrepreneurship journey during a conversation with Forbes anchor Maggie McGrath. "It is like in, you know, when I started at NBC, I didn't know what I was doing and I felt like a kid. I feel like that all over again."

She continued, "I think my 60s — I'm 61 — are like my 'begin again' era. Like learn new things, era. So I'm a cheerleader by nature. I'm like, 'You did it. Go girl.' Like that's what I want to do."

Se went on to say that entrepreneurship has taught her that she sometimes has to have tough conversations.

"But I do realize that in a business you have to have meaningful, important, straightforward conversations that sometimes are painful," Kotb said. "You have to be able to tell somebody the truth. And that was one of my big, big lessons because I felt like my role was to lead from the back of the boat and cheer. But now I realize that sometimes you have to have really good, important conversations."

Kotb's comments come as she prepares for the release of her new book Jump and Find Joy: Embracing Change in Every Season of Life on Sept. 23.

According to the synopsis, the book is "a guide to dealing with change and upheaval, even (and perhaps especially) when that change is unexpected."

"Hoda Kotb didn't expect to join the Today show at age 44. Or to become a mother at 52. Or to be single again at 57," the description continued. "As she's learned, change doesn't always arrive when we want it to, and its effects are anything but predictable. But the benefits of change can be extraordinary ... if we're willing to listen to and learn from its wisdom."

The former Today host also spoke to PEOPLE back in May about her new wellness app, Joy 101 following her Today exit after 17 years on the show.

The platform provides customers with targeted programs and resources, as well as live wellness events and a subscription newsletter.

Customers will be able to receive specific mindfulness and wellness exercise recommendations after typing their name and age into the app.

"[Let's say] I have 15 minutes in the morning. I want energy and calm in my life. I've never tried any of these things, but I'm willing to," Kotb told PEOPLE at the time. "[The app will say] between 6:00 and 6:10, try this. Here's a video for you and at the bottom it'll give you all of the science."
