*Pose* actress Indya Moore is criticizing series creator Ryan Murphy for a lack of vocal allyship at a time when transgender rights are being eroded by the U.S. government.

In an emotional 30-minute Instagram reel, Moore teared up while railing against the current administration's stance on trans rights. After thanking "everyone who has ever supported trans people ever," Moore took aim at Murphy, who she accused of abandoning the transgender community and allowing "racism [and] violence" to fester on his shows.

"I want to express my thanks and my gratitude to all the people who have ever given us jobs, allowing us to be able to speak out. But like, we really need y'all. We really, really need y'all," Moore said, through tears. "Like, the fact that Ryan Murphy has been this silent — like, we really pissed you off that much, Ryan? Like Ryan Murphy, who upset you that much?"

Invoking *Pose* co-creator Janet Mock, who made headlines for blasting Hollywood in a 2021 speech, Moore added, "Janet really pissed you off that much?"

In the infamous 2021 incident, Mock, a trans woman and an activist, voiced some choice words about the industry while attending a red carpet event for the show's third season. After Murphy and fellow co-creator Steven Canals offered their own remarks, Mock launched into a nearly 15-minute speech in which she demanded to know why she wasn't paid more for her work on the show, questioned the quality of the season 1 episodes written by men, directly confronted Murphy, and at one point declared "f--- Hollywood."

Praising Mock for speaking out, Moore said of Murphy, "I'm trying to understand how is it that you could do something like *Pose* during Donald Trump's administration and then, it's like — poof — you're gone? It's garbage. It's an embarrassment. Like that's how it feels."

She continued, "Ryan Murphy, we need you to do more. You do need to address the racism, the violence, and the targeting of people on your productions, Ryan Murphy. Yes, you do."

In addition to Mock's complaints, Moore's comments call back to *American Horror Story* alum Angelica Ross and *Scream Queens* star Keke Palmer both speaking out about experiencing racism on the respective sets, two separate shows co-created by Murphy.

"You do need to make sure that trans people are paid equally," Moore said, adding. "Yes, Janet did the right thing."

Elsewhere in the video, Moore called upon others in Hollywood to "stop being passive" as trans rights are threatened across the globe.

"Please advocate for us in your countries," she implored viewers. "We need your help, we need your support."

Laverne Cox, who championed *Pose* during its run, praised Moore's remarks in the videos' comments section, writing, "Love you so much my sister. This call to action, this call to love, this call for empathy, acknowledging each other's humanity both intra-community and for those who proclaim allyship. I've been weeping just like this. Weeping. But not showing it. But I hear you. I feel you deeply. I'm right there too."

Spanning three seasons, *Pose* delved into the vibrant underground of New York City ballroom culture of the late '80s, largely revolving around Black and Latinx members of the LGBTQ community. When the show debuted in 2018, in the midst of Trump's first presidential term, Murphy spoke about the importance of "uplifting" trans voices in such a dangerous moment.

"Our community is under such attack from this administration," Murphy said at the 2018 premiere. "I wanted to put something optimistic and uplifting out there."

He expressed a similar sentiment while speaking to EW for a *Pose* cover story.

"It's a community that has always needed champions and advocates, and I thought now is the perfect time," Murphy said of the show. "I think the power of television is incredible. I feel like if you put characters in front of viewers, even if they're not like you, but you learn about them and you love them, it will change your worldview and lead to acceptance. I've seen it."**
