Is Niall Horan headed for three-peat?
During the first season 28 audition of The Voice on Monday, Sept. 22, the former One Direction singer came out on top by getting four-chair turn contestant Aiden Ross on his team.
For his blind audition, Ross, 20, sang a cover of "Love in the Dark" by Adele — and caused coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé to turn almost immediately. Afterward, Reba McEntire and Horan followed suit.
The "This Town" singer, 32, was the first one to speak his mind — and he expressed how much he loved that he took an Adele song and made it his own.
"It was literally like you had written the thing. When you hit some of those bigger notes, you hit them with ease and that makes me excited now that you're 155% on the show and you're going to be on Team Niall obviously," he said.
"I've worked with similar voices to yours and had some success on the show previously. If you don't pick me, I wish I could turn this chair around and never turn it again," Horan joked.
Up next, McEntire, 70, complimented him for walking toward the coaches during his performance.

"That is not an amateur move. It took me a while to be able to do that," she said. "I couldn't wait to hit my button so I could see who the person that was with the voice that was mesmerizing. I would love to have you on my team."
Bublé, 50, told Ross he had a "beautiful voice" — and explained why he loves coaching on The Voice so much.
"This show is the best gig I've ever had. And the thing that I love about it most is that it's not just about winning or losing. It's about making a genuine connection with another human being and riding the ride with them," he explained.
The Canadian crooner added, "And I'm good at it. I'm good at helping to choose songs. I'm good at helping you to find your greatness. I hope you choose me. I think I'd be a great coach for you and it would be a joy to take this journey with you man."
Snoop, 53, pointed out that it took him "seconds" to turn his chair around after he began singing.
"The whole first note wasn't even out yet... so what that spirit was telling me was, his voice needs to be with coach Snoop," he said. "Not just because of the show but the things that we can do after the show. Join my team, we'll win this thing, and then after we'll talk about making your own music — like putting that record out."
Before he made his final decision, Horan put his "neck on the line" and told him he sees him "in the final of this competition.
Then, after taking a second to think about it, Ross made his decision.
"I'm gonna have to go with Niall," he said, prompting the coach to jump out of his chair.

Afterward, Horan said that his voice was "unbelievable." He was also happy he could one-up Bublé.
"Bublé's been a friend of mine for many, many, many, many, many years," he said. "I never worked with Bublé and I wanted to beat him. I just wanted to get one-up on him straight away to let him know the champ is back and he should be worried. I am undefeated and I would like to win a third one. Oh America, I am back."
The "Feeling Good" singer is coming off of two consecutive wins on seasons 26 and 27. Meanwhile, Horan coached – and won — seasons 23 and 24.
The Voice season 28 premieres Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and will continue to air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
