- Netflix thriller *The Hunting Wives* will officially return for a second season.
- Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow will reprise their roles as Margo and Sophie, respectively.
- Season 2 will deviate even further from the book on which the series is based.
Netflix's binge-worthy *The Hunting Wives* has more story to tell.
Based on May Cobb's best-selling novel of the same name, the thriller* *follows Sophie (Brittany Snow) and her family as they relocate from Boston to a wealthy community in the fictional Maple Brook, Tex. There, she becomes entangled with Margo (Malin Akerman), the leader of an exclusive socialite group. Thus begins her descent into a world of obsession, secrets, and deadly consequences.
Following its July 21 premiere, *The Hunting Wives* dominated Netflix's streaming charts, captivating audiences with its scandalous storyline.
The season 1 finale leaves plenty of loose ends and chaos in its wake, paving the way for even more drama to come. But will there be a second season? Here's everything we know about *The Hunting Wives* season 2.

Yes, *The* *Hunting Wives* is officially coming back for season 2. Snow and Akerman shared the news in a FaceTime-style video posted to social media.
In the minute-long clip, a teary-eyed Snow (complete with mascara smudges) tells Akerman she'd "give anything to see" her. Akerman smiles and teases, "I have a feeling we're going to see each other real soon. Actually, I *know *we're going to see each other really soon."
Snow asks for clarification, and the video switches to Akerman, fully decked out in her Margo wig. "Pack your boots and load your guns," she says. "We're going back to Maple Brook for season 2, baby!"
Creator Rebecca Cutter also confirmed season 2. "I'm so excited to write these amazing characters again," she told Netflix's *Tudum*. "And I can't wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, bats--- crazy ride through Maple Brook."**

Packed with scandal, secrets, and suspense, *The Hunting Wives* wraps season 1 with a twisty finale.
It's revealed that Margo was responsible for Abby's (Madison Wolfe) death. Abby had discovered that her boyfriend Brad (George Ferrier), the teenage son of fellow Hunting Wife Jill (Katie Lowes), was having an affair with Margo, leading to a pregnancy and an abortion. Fearing that Abby would expose the affair and jeopardize her husband Jed's (Dermot Mulroney) political career, Margo took drastic action and gunned Abby down.
The fallout is *messy*. A violent confrontation at Jill's house leaves two people dead, and Margo takes advantage of the chaos to frame Jill, effectively closing the case (at least in the eyes of the police).
But Sophie, newly released from jail after being framed for Abby's murder, starts connecting the dots. Sophie uncovers Margo's elaborate cover-up, which involved help from her estranged brother Kyle (Michael Aaron Milligan) and a fake alibi from her father, Doc Blevins (David Jensen).

Casting call seeks 'real hunting wives of the South' for docuseries in wake of Netflix show

Adding another layer of betrayal, Callie (Jaime Ray Newman), Margo's best friend and sometimes-lover, admits she was the one who left intimate photos of Margo and Brad in Margo's car as a misguided attempt to protect her.
At a campaign event for Jed, Sophie confronts Margo, who confesses to everything but insists she never meant to frame Sophie. Margo pleads for them to leave the past behind and start fresh, but Sophie calls Det. Salazar (Karen Rodriguez), determined to come clean.
The season ends with one last shocking twist: Kyle runs Sophie off the road and threatens her. When he seemingly reaches for a gun, Sophie slams her foot on the gas and runs him over, killing him.
As Sophie tries to figure out what to do, Salazar finally calls her back. It couldn't be worse timing, what with her having committed vehicular homicide, so she ignores the call.
In the final moments, Sophie hauls Kyle's body into the woods. When Margo calls his phone, Sophie accidentally picks up, but she doesn't say a word. She quickly hangs up and sends Kyle's body over a ledge and into a lake.
What will season 2 of *The Hunting Wives *be about?

Brittany Snow as Sophie on 'The Hunting Wives'.
Season 1 of *The Hunting Wives* delivered plenty of soapy drama and mystery, but things are about to get even messier in season 2.
As the official logline reveals, "Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?"
With Kyle and Jill's deaths hanging heavy over everyone, the new season will likely dig deep into their murder investigations. While the audience knows Sophie is responsible for Kyle's death, the characters will be left scrambling to uncover the truth and who to trust.
And then there's Sophie and Margo's tangled relationship. Will they find a way to rekindle their affair, or is Margo convinced that Sophie had a hand in her brother's death? The emotional stakes couldn't be higher (and deliciously dramatic).**
