- It's a battle of the Megs as Megyn Kelly and Meghan McCain sparred online over Tucker Carlson.

- Carlson headlined a Turning Point event after the death of Charlie Kirk, where he swore at an attendee.

- "Swearing at students and making a spectacle is beneath everyone," McCain said, which Kelly opposed.

It's officially a clash of the Megs in one of the gloomiest corners of conservative social media, as Megyn Kelly and Meghan McCain have squabbled over the handling of the speaking tour controversial figure Charlie Kirk left behind when he was assassinated in September.

The Republican Megs had a temporary spat on X earlier this week, after McCain — daughter of the late Sen. John McCain and former cohost of *The View* — slammed media personality Tucker Carlson for his profanity-laden reaction to a dissenter he spoke with while headlining a recent event for Kirk's Turning Point. Carlson told the attendee to "get off the f---ing internet" after he said that the former Fox News star was worth $50 million.

"Every single thing about this is the polar opposite of how Charlie Kirk debated people who disagreed with him," McCain wrote Thursday on the platform.

McCain continued, "Swearing at students and making a spectacle is beneath everyone," which prompted an opposing post from Kelly.

"No one is expecting any of the ppl subbing for Charlie to imitate Charlie," Kelly replied. "Tucker is standing in for his friend despite his own busy life & not without risk to Tucker's own safety. I think the appropriate reaction is just: thank you & may God bless you and keep you safe, TC."

Moments later, McCain replied to Kelly, telling the journalist, "We're just gonna have to agree to disagree Megyn."

Kelly herself also recently engaged in a heated back-and-forth with an attendee at a Turning Point event, roughly two weeks after Kirk was shot and killed in Utah while discussing the issue of gun violence in America.

During a Turning Point presentation at Virginia Tech University, Kelly, a Donald Trump supporter, responded to a person's inquiry over how she could stand behind a leader who "contributes to the rhetoric that got your friend Charlie killed."

The audience member went on, telling Kelly, "You saw his rally recently. He said, 'I hate my enemies.' [White House Deputy Chief of Staff] Stephen Miller said similar things. How can you support him when he contributed to what got Charlie killed?"

The former Fox News personality told the attendee that his assessment was "not true" and that it did nothing more than "assume facts not in evidence" related to the matter.

After the student cited a study that noted political violence is often at the hands of right-wing people, Kelly called his argument "defamatory," "inappropriate," and "a blatant lie."

Following his Sept. 10 death, many users online pointed out the irony that Kirk was shot and killed while discussing gun violence in the United States — and pointed to his past comments at a 2023 presentation.

"It's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights," Kirk said at the time.
