- Jon Cryer says in a new documentary that he was only paid one-third of his costar Charlie Sheen's salary on *Two and a Half Men*.
- Previous reports indicated that Sheen made around $1.9 million per episode, while Cryer made $620,000 after Sheen left the show.
- Sheen recalled fearing that returning to the sitcom would "go terribly wrong."
Jon Cryer says Charlie Sheen made more than two and a half times his salary on their hit sitcom.
In the new Netflix documentary *aka Charlie Sheen*, Cryer looks back on his former costar landing a massive payday for *Two and a Half Men* amid some high-profile personal struggles.
"He's in the midst of falling apart in every way that I can imagine, and he's renegotiating his contract for another year of a show that I'm supposed to be on too," Cryer recalls in the doc.

The *Pretty in Pink* actor goes on to compare Sheen to a prominent political figure. "The dictator of North Korea was a guy named Kim Jong-Il. He acted crazy all the time and thus got enormous amounts of aid from countries who were so scared of him that they would shovel money at him," Cryer says. "Well, that's what happened here. [Sheen's] negotiations went off the charts because his life was falling apart. Me, whose life was pretty good at that time, I got a third of that."
A representative for Warner Bros. TV, which produced *Two and a Half Men*, declined to comment on Cryer's remarks. ** has also reached out to CBS, which aired the show, and reps for Sheen for comment.
In the documentary, Cryer claims that CBS had "pre-sold a couple extra seasons of the show," which meant the network had significant incentive to "spend this astonishing amount of money on Charlie."**

*Forbes* reported in 2011 that Sheen was making $1.9 million per episode of *Two and a Half Men* prior to his dismissal from the show. In 2013, after Sheen was replaced by Ashton Kutcher, *The Hollywood Reporter* reported that Cryer earned around $620,000 per episode, which would line up with Cryer's assertion in the documentary.
Elsewhere in the doc, Sheen himself reflects on his hesitancy to return to *Two and a Half Men* in the midst of his widely publicized addiction battle.
"I remember saying, 'Dude, I dunno man. I'm feeling emotionally done there,'" the actor recalls of the sitcom. "'And I get there's a ton of money at stake, and I get there's a lot more juice to be squeezed out of this thing, but I don't know how much juice is left in me. And I do fear if I go back, it's gonna go terribly wrong.' I said those words."

Additionally, Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards appears in the same segment of the doc, claiming that CBS and WBTV presented the actor with two options. "Either we're putting out a statement that you've gone to rehab and we are going to resume filming when you come back," she recalls the studios saying, "or this statement is, 'The show is canceled and we're done.'"
