- The highly anticipated fourth season of *Bridgerton *has a release date.

- The eight-episode season will air in two parts on Netflix.

- Lady Whistledown will return with all the hot gossip in January and February.

Your invitation to the *Bridgerton *masquerade ball is finally here.

On Monday, Netflix announced that season 4 of the hit Shondaland romance will drop in two parts in early 2026. The first four episodes will premiere on Jan. 29, with the final four episodes set to hit the streamer on Feb. 26.

Along with the release dates, Netflix also shared new photos of the season's central love interests, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Benedict wears all black, including a mask, while Sophie appears as the mysterious woman in silver from her sparkling mask all the way down to her glittering shoes.

Julie Andrews is back as the voice of Lady Whistledown in the teaser. "With each passing season, one is known to experience plenty of ups and downs," she says as Benedict and Sophie pass each other while going up and down a staircase.

"So then we must ask ourselves," Whistledown continues, "do we rise to the occasion? As always, time and this author will tell."

In the clip, Sophie and Benedict brush hands and the footage ends on a shot of a single silver glove left without its mate on the steps of the Bridgerton home, much like Cinderella's glass slipper.

The new photos also showcase Sophie and Benedict in their masquerade ball garb, featuring them dancing at the ball, their hands touching ever so slightly, and the two hidden away in a garden. "Unmask true love," teases the newly released key art.

With 'Bridgerton' renewed for seasons 5 and 6, what does this mean for the plot?

"Benedict is a character who we all have been rooting for," said showrunner Jess Brownell earlier this year. "We're deeply invested in his story, and it's been really exciting trying to shake him out of his normal routine, and the only way we were able to do that was with a character as dynamic as Sophie. She is based in a Cinderella trope but she is no damsel in distress, she is someone who has chess moves and is always thinking two, three steps ahead. She's absolutely going to throw Benedict for a loop."

The season will also find besties Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie) thick as thieves once more. "They're more bonded than ever!" Brownell said previously. "Their trials and tribulations last season have added new depth to their friendship, and we're excited for viewers to see how their relationship looks now that they've each grown up a little."

In keeping with the Cinderella of it all, we'll spend time with Sophie's stepsisters, Rosamund (Michelle Mao) and Posy (Isabella Wei) Li. "The Li sisters are just making their debut into society this season, and their mother (Araminta Gun, played by Katie Leung) has raised them to be perfect debutantes," Brownell said. "But while Rosamund has become her mother's mini-me — a marriage mart pro chess player — Posy is dreamy and often unserious, much to her mother's disapproval."

"Araminta and Rosamund are so focused on their own goals that, frankly, the Bridgertons don't register much for them at first," she added. "Beyond the fact that Benedict proves to be quite the catch this season."

All will be revealed at the ball on Jan. 29. Watch the teaser above for more.**
