Francia Raisa is shutting down rumors that she is feuding with longtime friend Selena Gomez.
The* How I Met Your Father *actress, who donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017 amid the singer's battle with lupus, recently got candid about speculation surrounding their relationship. In an interview filmed days before Gomez's Sept. 27 wedding to Benny Blanco, Raisa addressed rumors that she confronted Gomez about smoking after the operation.
"Well, right now [what] you're asking me is nonsense... and there are too many rumors," Raisa told Univision's *Primer Impacto, *addressing accusations. "When that rumor came out that I had gotten angry or something like that because [Selena] was smoking, I wasn't aware of those rumors."

She added, "What you're asking me are rumors. No one knows what's going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. One day, maybe we will address it."
Raisa and Gomez first crossed paths a decade ago when they were young stars on *Secret Life of the American Teenager* and *Wizards of Waverly Place,* respectively. In 2017, Raisa donated one of her kidneys to Gomez after she suffered lupus-related organ damage. In the immediate aftermath, rumors of a fallout between the two surfaced, fueled by the duo exchanging words on social media and Raisa reportedly unfollowing Gomez on Instagram.
More recently, fans are speculating that Raisa was not invited to Gomez's wedding to Blanco. The private ceremony was attended by several of the couple's famous friends, including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Paul Rudd, Zoe Saldaña, and Édgar Ramírez.

Raisa did bring up the nuptials while chatting with *Primer Impacto* about the kidney transplant, noting, "I know she's getting married, and I'm very happy for her. And look… she has a life, and she is already a billionaire, and I am grateful that I could do that for her."
She added, "From the beginning, the doctors told me it's a donation. If you're going to donate a dollar to St. Jude or somewhere else, you're not going to call to say, 'Hey, what are you doing with my dollar?' It's a donation and it's something nice that I was able to do. I am grateful that I am alive, and I can say that I have saved a life."

Raisa and Gomez seemed to reconnect in 2023, with Gomez sharing a birthday tribute to her longtime friend on social media. That same year, Raisa supported the star at her inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit, telling *Extra TV*, "We trauma-bonded, which is beautiful, but also it can get rocky and tricky. People grow, relationships change."
Alluding to tension between them, she added, "Sometimes people need to spend time apart in order to grow. We had to almost go on our own journey and grow." She also noted that the rumored drama has "nothing to do with the kidney."
