Derek Hough may be keeping his moves on *Dancing With the Stars* behind the judging panel, but he'd take another twirl on the dance floor for Kristen Bell.

During a recent interview on *Extra*, the host confessed to Bell and her *Nobody Wants This* costar Adam Brody that he would take another shot at the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with her by his side.

"You know when people have always asked me in the past, they'll be like, 'Who would be your dream partner on *Dancing with the Stars*?'" Hough told the pair during the conversation ahead of the season 2 premiere of their Netflix series. "And I'm gonna be honest with you, Kristen, you've been my number one for a while."

Brody initially seemed surprised, thinking Hough was speaking to him before realizing he was referring to his costar as Bell's jaw dropped. "What!? Derek, do you know that I tip over all the time, like even just walking?" Bell exclaimed as she clapped her hands around her face.

"But is that a fun challenge," Body chimed in, adding, "Or do you want someone really talented?"

Ever the quick thinker, Bell suggested that Hough could just move her around the dance floor, which he jumped on, saying he could "move her around like a mannequin." Brody asked the ballroom champion what kind of "clay" he's looking to work with, to which Bell quipped that she's "super malleable."

"Are we doing this?" Hough quipped. "Is this happening?"

Bell was more than down for making it happen, responding, "I mean, maybe we could do it. I feel like I would need a lot of rehearsal."

"That's fine, we'll put in the work, and will turn you from a tipper to a dipper," Hough answered — which he admitted to thinking of on the fly — before Bell declared, "I'm in!"**

Although Bell is assuredly underestimating her own skills — she must have some moves after several Broadway appearances, including musicals like *Reefer Madness* — she couldn't pick a better partner than Hough.

The dancer joined *DWTS* in 2007 as a guest instructor while his sister, Julianne Hough, was already competing as a pro. He officially became a pro in 2008 for season 5 and remained in the position until season 23 in 2016 (except for seasons 12 and 22).

During his tenure, Hough won six seasons — the most Mirrorball Trophies of any dancer. He nabbed his first win with Brooke Burke on season 7 in 2008, his second with Nicole Scherzinger on season 10 in 2010, his third with Jennifer Grey on season 11 in 2010, his fourth with Kellie Pickler on season 16 in 2013, his fifth with Amber Riley on season 17 in 2013, and his sixth with Bindi Irwin on season 21 in 2015.

Hough returned to the competition series for its 29th season in 2020, this time as judge alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, and has since held the position.

The dancer recently took over for Billy Bush as the host of *Extra*, following in the steps of his sister, who is now the cohost of *DWTS* alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

"She's like, 'I think *Extra* Derek is going to be my new favorite era, man," Hough previously told **. "It's a vibe."**
